A 1000 Words or there abouts

I think two weeks ago, I started a cleaning kick. These are just some of the yarn I've removed from my desk. The saddest part? There are a bunch more that still need to be removed so I can see my desk.
Addict Picture

At the same time of removing some yarn that is staring at me - trying to guilt it's way onto my needles - I picked up some of the half finished projects I've got on the needles.
Almost Done!

Since then, I finished the ugly green hat.
Ugly Green Hat

We've been getting some rain recently. Considering we're a high dessert, I'm surprised there hasn't been more flooding.
Before the Storm

Grilltech likes Linux, he even teaches it . Linux is the base OS for our server. Think Rebel Alliance - Han Solo!! Me? I've joined the Empire....
I'm part of the Empire!

Grilltech's fennel.
Damn Fennel... It's a good thing I love my husband

More of the fennel.
A really good thing!!

Sabrina likes to lie on the flowers.
Sabrina is evil

Grilltech's hops are starting to get out of control.
Dammit!!!

Really, out of control
I'm free! I'm free!

That's what I've been up to.

Ack..

Oh yea, that's what an hour at the gym feels like...

I'm Such a Geek

SQL hell:
SELECT *
FROM dbo.InnerCritic
WHERE ReflectiveThought = TRUE

Anyone want the translation?

English hell:
SELECT * means select everything
FROM dbo.InnerCritic means from my head (AKA dbo.) inner critic (pretty self-descriptive name there)
WHERE ReflectiveThought = TRUE means where ever my self-esteem raises it's cute little head, inner critic has every right to go after said self-esteem with both barrels. (What can I say, I like action.)

Knit ugly lime green hat for Mom. Make it larger than the ones I've been making for my dad. Because that's what she asked for and any good business owner listens to their customer base. Finish said hat, and show it to loving husband Grilltech. Who will make an innocent statement, I will warp and twist it into something dark.

"Yea, but that's HUGE."

Look at offending hat. "She did say, she wanted them larger than the normal ones I've been making her."

Here's where the logic goes south. Yes, it is big, but that's what she wanted. But if it's too big it won't sell. But it's BIG. The recursion of the internal conversation was wait for it, EPIC. Finally start ripping back on the ugly hat.

Decide on Friday - and I've been cleaning, CLEANING!! because my hobby is starting to not be fun - maybe I should call Mom and see if it's really too big.

Turns out she'll take the hat both HUGE and UGLY. I've already ripped back. It's now time to pick up those loose stitches and knit them. Because I didn't ask first.

I'm glad Friday's over and the weekend has begun.

A 1000 Words

This post is brought to you by Fran.
Fran Kitty
Sorry guys, Sabrina wasn't feeling like posing.

Socks I finished for me. I think on the size zero needles, I'll use ones for the leg and zeros for the foot. Really like the tight fit.
My Socks

See what I haven't been working on?
Peacock Feathers Shawl

Instead, I've been playing with a hatchling....

I'm tired

I'd post pictures of my latest project, but I didn't take pictures last night. Tonight I'm to lazy tired to take them. I watched the yummy, yummy hot guys (OMG), then disconnected from the interweb, turned off the TV then cleaned.

I'd show pictures of the clean house, but once again, I'm lazy. Sure my desk is still a sty - I said cleaned not crazy.

Remember how I said I was making the half-assed attempt at the shape up? I've been walking twice (sometimes thrice) a day, now I fit into a pair of pants I couldn't button a month ago. Maybe there is something to this whole exercise thing.

Excuse me, while I fend off a hatchling....

List Day!

  • Counted two cars at the bar this morning
  • At 0530 in the morning, there heavy traffic heading east while I'm driving west
  • The person who I've been training with isn't here today
  • So I'm bouncing between his and my computers
  • Then I got to call him to get instructions on how to run a morning report
  • Amy, honey. You don't have time for a social life. Now get writing!
  • And take back your hatchling dragon
  • I've doomed myself to ripping back on this shawl, I commented to Donna Lee I don't have a life line
  • Well crappy, I'm out of water
  • Work is sponsoring a wellness event, I'm making a half-assed attempt at following it
  • I'm doing pretty good, hate switching shoes three times a day
  • Happened to glance up at a jug of pretzels across the cube wall; it expired Dec2709
  • He brought them in today
  • On the third walk of the day, we passed a family of ducks. The babies were sooo adorable

I got Nothin'

I want! There is a bag of this; but I don't need another bag.

Have I mentioned recently how amazing Ravelry is? I had a question about what a stitch mention and I had an answer within 30 minutes. Plus there are so many talented amazing crafters out there.

I'm so ready to call it a day. I'm not sure the benefits of getting to stay up later outweighs the staying until 1430 at work.

Oh yea, Happy Birthday MIL!

List Day!

  • Counted seven cars at the bar this morning
  • One of my systems refused to boot
  • After an hour and a half, Big D (AKA T1) went unhooked everything from the back, then it booted for him - I had only disconnected the power cord
  • I'm just happy to have my systems back
  • Convert's monitors are smaller than mine
  • I don't need a scarf that long
  • I forgot to wash my cup yesterday
  • Next time, I don't walk through the sprinklers, instead I walk around the building twice
  • Keep forgetting wikipedia takes forever to load on this system
  • Damn I'm out of water
  • Figure I can live 10 minutes, I'll take my walk and get some water
  • Third walk of the day (without Havac) and I'm ready to die
  • Which means when I walk with him today, he's going to totally run me over
  • Counted three cars on the drive home, but then I didn't have time to count them all

A 1000 Words

I've finished Mr. White's (formerly known as the Troll) sweater. It's actually Convert's baby sweater. Convert didn't come back when she said was going to, so I gave the one I made for her to Mr. White. Made the one for him and gave it to Convert. They both got one in the end that's all that matters.

Instead of Fran supervising me, I had Sabrina (AKA Fat Kitty). Twenty-eight pounds of annoyance.

The other night we had chicken noodle soup for dinner. While getting ready for dinner, I'd been washing dishes. I decided I should take off my bracelet, so nothing would happen to it...

Guess I was wrong, it broke when I tried to take it off.

Third time is the charm. Stupid peacock shawl

Nothing to see here...

Convert came back to work yesterday. I might actually have time to do real blog posts again. I've had the time prior, but I've been haunting Ravelry while waiting for the database. Instead of writing posts.

I'm on the last part of the baby sweater. It looks exactly like the last one, so currently there is no reason to take pictures of it. This sweater will have dark green buttons instead of matching.

I'm also converting written instructions to a chart. I have the bottom edge picked out and maybe the top half. I've only knitted four(?) shawls, so construction isn't something I've done before. I do have Knitting Lace Triangles. I figure it can't be that hard, right? I never think anything is hard until in the middle of it and I'm scratching my head thinking what-the-fuck-have-I-gotten-myself-into?

It appears Procreator has annoyed Gnome to the point I'll now be working with Procreator. Apparently I'm a calming influence. (Stop laughing, it could be.) Or the fact, I understand what Gnome really means when he asks for things and am willing to ask for more information. On the plus side, Procreator is a good programmer and will be able to teach me good habits...

List Day!

  • Counted four cars at the bar this morning
  • Saw one coyote
  • And a halo around a full moon
  • Spilled my cup of ice on the desk
  • I figured it would be a good idea to put the lid on my cup for the day
  • It appears that NIT1 isn't coming in OR he's really, really late
  • There is a goose nesting on top of the doors to the building (we have an airlock)
  • NIT1 showed up almost an hour late
  • A Scalloped Edging
  • Another cloudy, possibly rainy day
  • More coding frustration
  • Sketched out a design
  • Has had to throw the fat kitty off her chair... twice
  • I'm so happy today is over and tomorrow is Friday
  • Oh yea, I don't have a good plan for the group on Saturday Night

Thank you for all the lovely comments about Haruni. It was really easy to make, even with color issue. I'm currently thinking on the next project. Grilltech wants his afghan done, and I do work on it. But it's not what I wanna knit. So, I'm looking and debating and decided I'll end up designing my own shawlette. I have visions of lace and cables. Very Faroese. This one will be mine. All mine. Stop laughing, it could happen.

Not sure what was going on today. I passed two officers pretty close to home on the drive in. When Grilltech came into work he said there were three officers parked outside the building. No one seems to know what that was about.

At work, I've been writing some code. Fixed an issue of not getting a data set to load. Finally got it. Now 116 different errors popped up. I'm calling it quits while I can.

A light...

at the end of the tunnel? Only three more rows, then bind off!!

List Day!

  • Counted four cars at the bar this morning
  • No unusual wildlife crossing my path on the way to work
  • Either I turned off my alarm this morning or forgot to turn it on
  • But I still made it to work on time
  • Today is my Friday
  • And the databases are running slow
  • Ha! I didn't run out of pink, I switched on purpose
  • The colorway I was looking for is Austermann Step Duetts 55
  • It's like knitting gods are mocking me
  • It's the first picture, I pulled that up and thought of course
  • The sky was almost clear early in the morning, now it's mostly cloudy
  • Two more hours to go
  • And the database is still crawling
  • Day is over and I'm home knitting

First thunder storm of the season. Uggy is now hiding under the bed.

More Inner Conversation Fun

  • Me: It's almost done.. Last 27 rows. I'm so happy.
  • Inner Critic: You're going to run out of yarn.
  • Me:Will not! I've got plenty. Besides, you *always* think I'll run out.
  • IC: Whatever.
  • Me much later: Crap! I'm going to run out of yarn.
  • IC: I told you so, but noooo..
  • Me: Shut up, if you're not going to be part of the solution, I don't want to hear from you.
  • IC: Check Ravlery
  • Me: Smart. (tappity, tappity, tappity) Ravlery doesn't have it. (Google it, find one store that has it in stock. Place the order and continue on knitting happily.)

  • Store Owner: Hi, you placed an on line order, just want to verify it. Colorway 50, right?
  • Me:No, it should be 55.
  • SO: 55? (tappity, tappity, tappity) They don't make 55, are you sure?
  • Me: Yea, I'm looking at the band.
  • SO: Well, we don't have it, do you still want the order?
  • Me: No, thank you for the follow up
  • *grumble, grumble*

  • I'm digging through the stash, trying to find something that will contrast or look good. I come back with two choices.
  • IC: You're not going to have enough of the pink...
  • ME:SHUT UP!!!

w00t!

Starting the last 27 rows (really, 56 but who's counting?!). I'd show you a picture, but you've seen it before.

Elegant and Graceful

Yesterday we made home burgers full of chopped onions and Anaheim peppers. At one point, I rubbed my right eye and it burned for about an hour.

Today, I'm making soup. It's full of onions, bok choy, carrots, mushrooms and yip, Anaheim peppers.

Guess who forgot to pull out her contacts before starting the soup?

WIP Friday

Fran had to come out and make sure I was taking pictures right. Of course, she really couldn't tell what I was doing because her back was to me.

Proof I still do knit for me. Every time I work on these socks, I think of windy autumn days. Look out side and realize it's windy spring days.

I'm about 2.5 repeats away from starting the edging. I'm thinking about working on this all weekend.

I think Grilltech would prefer if I worked on his blanket a bit more. But spring is here, he doesn't need a throw.

Baby Bird ended up with the shaker sweater I made for the LYS. I brushed BB's hair to get a good picture of her, and ended up making her cry.

Yip, yet another generation who isn't happy with me. But she looks good in it.

List Day!

  • I counted three fire trucks, one EMT vehicle, and one blue/red light special on the way to work
  • On the other hand, I only counted one car at the bar this morning
  • The moon was a half eaten peach, low on the eastern horizon
  • The right system had a software push during the night, now the download is broken
  • Broken to the point, Procreator is required to spend many days hours programming to fix it
  • I'm betting days, but don't want to jinx him
  • Money changes everything
  • Finished the heel on my sock, will pick up the gusset during lunch
  • Who knows, I might even get it done sometime next week
  • Left over stuffed pork chops from last night with corn bread stuffing
  • Grilltech offered me a stargazing trip this weekend
  • The grey skies have two days to clear up! And I mean it!
  • I need to go brush my teeth, side of pork is stuck in them
  • Damn, I'm out of water
  • On the plus side, it's almost lunch time
  • Oh yea, I've already eaten lunch. Guess it's time to knit!
  • Stuck between the loud talkers and trying to listen to the voicemail...
  • House burgers for dinner tonight
  • It doesn't appear to be raining right now, but it might try later while Grilltech is grilling dinner
  • Picked up the gusset and managed three or four rows of decreases
  • The rain has started
  • Perky got my hopes up, telling me the needles had shown up
  • But it wasn't them, now I'm sad
  • Going out for coffee with Christy

Waiting

About a month ago, Grilltech's pickup died. We've been car pooling and waiting for our tax return to show up. It showed up two weeks later than expected; but it did show. Grilltech has been researching pickups in the area and found on one way home. We test drove it and when he started it there was the tell-tale high pitched tapping. As he drove around; each double tap caused the asking price in my head to drop. I looked over at him and said no. So he went with the second option; one I had said Seriously? The guy can't spell and the pickup looks rode hard and put away wet. Grilltech called him and he took the battered little thing for a drive - which runs like a dream and has some serious power under the hood. So today we're going to get some CAH-ASH* for it. We're going to be a two car family again.

* CAH-ASH – who uses that anymore? I’ve got a plastic card…

List Day!

  • I'd love to have some (scroll down)
  • Yesterday there were five cars, today there was one
  • Not sure about a pair of these contacts
  • Need to figure out what I'm going to have the gang do this week
  • I was happy to see the return of birds nesting on my way home
  • Until I realized it was a flying rat Canadian Goose instead of my birds-of-prey
  • My ID fell out of it's holder when I out of the car this morning
  • Naturally I didn't know until I go to sign in, then I hunted all over my desk for it
  • Looks like another possible snowy day
  • SPAM, mystery meat in a can
  • It did snow today

WIP Monday

I finished the Presto Chango:

Instead of using the lace panel, I went with a honeycomb cable:

I've also been making my own markers:

Made 48 of them to be exact:

Finished the first repeats of the Haruni shawl. I'm going to end up doing another four repeats, because Perky wants it LONG.

List Day!

  • Counted six cars at the bar this morning
  • Someone hit a skunk on the long straight stretch
  • I'm unable to chat with Grilltech at work, the talk programs are both down
  • Yes, I said both
  • We were suppose to have a software upgrade this weekend, but it's been pushed
  • I'm still taking Monday off
  • I can tell when one of us finds the great time sucker Facebook, their posts to blogs plummet
  • Today I remembered dental floss and a hair clip
  • Even better news! My PMS seems to be gone....
  • I'd be even happier if we really got our tax return tomorrow instead of the 30th like the IRS says
  • It's suppose to rain today, so far it's looking it could happen any second now
  • But it hasn't happened yet
  • The gal behind me, stole my chair and replaced it with a broken one that looks like mine
  • How do I know it was her? The white stripe down the back of the chair
  • I've got an urge to get the KP interchangeable needles
  • The addies are twice as much!!
  • Must resist the urge to stand up and scream Stop pounding on the table top! You're making my monitors bounce around because 1) the Gnome would want to have a chat with me about the proper way to do things and 2) screaming is not conducive to getting people to do what you want them to
  • Crazy talk, I know
  • It did end up raining today, which was kinda nice, but on the cool side

Rambling

For two days now I've left my lip balm at home. I've got two of them in front of my keyboard on the desk at home, which does me very little good at 0600 in the morning; while at work. Oh wait. I forgot I put the balm in my drawer, so I have one. Now if I'd just get smart about hair clips and dental floss.

I finished the body on Presto Chango. I've decided to use a cable pattern instead of lace leaves. When knitting the body, I attached a second ball of yarn and knit both fronts at the same time. I think it would have made me crazy them one at a time. Maybe that's just me.

Well the front was off to a rocky start. I casted on the required number of stitches knit two rows then held up to the sweater. Too small. Ripped back then added six more stitches, it looks much better. Instead of seed stitch I was trying to do ribbing. Thankfully I caught it half way through the second row instead of six rows later.

Fun with Gamers

Saturday night's campaign I had two threads going. The Elves were told to gather as much intel on an address on the outskirts of Bellevue. They set up cameras and drove around the location for about six hours. They did a couple of astral recons and found a ward around the grounds - all five acres. It appears to be a dog training facility ran by Ares.

The second one was Joe's sister called about 2030 stating husband hasn't made it home yet. He had a doctor's appointment; he called when he was done about 1600 and then nothing. So the two Sammy's swing by the free clinic/soup kitchen/mission and can't find anything. They start canvassing and one finds a homeless guy who says *the place gives him the creeps and he thinks there is something odd going on there.* The next day, the two Sammy's go talk to the doctor, who says the brother was at the appointment, he was doing well all things considered, and then left. (She didn't appear to be lying to them.) They had the decker hack the place and pulled his medical records. At the bottom was the comment suitable candidate.

They then decide to send in Moon Dog; the Shaman Dwarf who lives in the sewers as a homeless guy along with Narr - a Sammy - as backup. In the middle of the night Moon Dog fails a body check of 8 and goes out. Narr follows to see where they take him, fails his perception test and loses them. The guys out in the van see another van leaving, Narr exits the building, they pick him up and off they follow it to a warehouse. They drive through the door, bashing in the front of the brand-new-shiny roadmaster that's less than 24 hours old. After some recon, they find the way down and end up getting ambushed by some true form cockroaches (three). Turns out I made them a bit too tough and had to fudge the numbers so the team would live. They kill the four flesh forms; found the brother-in-law and Moon Dog then got the hell out of there - leaving about 12 others to their fate.

We finished the night there, but I’ve got plenty to work with. Feel sorry for them, very sorry.

List Day!

  • Counted 15 cars at the bar this morning
  • Taxes went really well last night
  • Grilltech is now busily looking for a new pickup
  • Okay, new to us pickup
  • I'm not really hungry, but I want to eat something
  • So far, gum has held it at bay, but I'm unsure how much longer it will last
  • Bevis and Butthead are back today
  • Work must be slow today
  • We'll need to stop and get gas on the way home
  • It appears to be another bright sunny day out there
  • More spreadsheet hell
  • Plus an 88 minute meeting of explaining to a designer what he thinks is ready, really isn't
  • Havac is escaping the yard again, so he'll need to be chained up
  • He doesn't like that
  • Grilltech was a sweetie and took me out to dinner
  • Then we walked down and picked up some interesting looking beers
  • I'm having a Strawberry Oatmeal Stout, it smells very good

St Patrick's Day

After yesterday's rant, it has been decided done is always better than perfect. The 19 squares will be added to the strips and we shan't speak of this again. Will start more strips after finishing Convert's baby sweater.

Not sure if that's rain I smell or something else. I thought I heard the rain on the roof, but with these fans I always think its raining. The sun will be up in about 20 minutes, so I'll be able to look out the window to see.

We're having a potluck at work today, one of the admins said let's not do too much crap food because I'll just sit there and eat it all. I warned her I was bringing pie, because PI day was Sunday. What does she bring today? Two dozen doughnuts.

We're having our taxes done tonight. I have a deep rooted fear we're going to end up owing Uncle Sam. I always have that fear. Especially since we don't have any little tax deductions running around anymore. Both a blessing and a curse.

I've got two side stories bouncing around my head for this weekend. Don't know what the main adventure will be. Something they can kick the door open, shoot anything that moves, then loot the place.* Sure sometimes the guns are bows, but it's the same tactic. Maybe they need to steal some data from someone's house. I'd say artwork; but that would be three adventures in a row where they've dealt with artwork.

The sun isn't quite up yet, but I can see Venus' belt, so no rain here. Stupid fans. Oh yea, Wikipedia take forever to load on this machine.

The day has pretty much flown by. Only a bit more to go, then its home to snuggle with Grilltech and knit.

* Our group's standard MO no matter the genre

GAH!

Hysterical laughter, can cause cow-orkers to stop and stare. The funniest part? They just wouldn't understand.

Sunday I met my goal of 120 square. Yeh me!

Since I've been sick, I've spent some time sewing strips together because those can't be screwed up.

If anyone could find a way to mess up sewing strips together, it would be me. Want proof?

Grilltech is pouting now. His blanket is in time out. I don't have the heart to tell him, I need to go pick up more yarn to finish his blanket. I'll let him think it's me for a while.

The worst fucking part? I ripped back the extra square. Counted again, and I've got NINETEEN-FUCKING-SQUARES. Its now in time out.

List Day!

  • I counted three cars in the parking lot this morning
  • Could it be there were less cars because I was an hour later than usual?
  • Interesting
  • I want a jet pack, and I wouldn't even have to fight Grilltech for it
  • And the database just crashed on me
  • Grilltech appears to be having my bad day
  • Should I tell him about the cockroaches?
  • Can you imagine what it was like for this kid in school? XXXX Batman-YYYY
  • Or have the first name of Prince (or Princess)
  • Got T1 into trouble; now he's chatting with the Gnome
  • Don't forget, PI day is coming up this Sunday
  • Havoc is now staring at me, he wants the door opened
  • This week has flown by, I'm still happy tomorrow is Friday

Worst Mommy Ever!

  • Wouldn't let Havoc chase chickens.

  • Not taking him for a walk, RIGHT NOW!

  • Not going outside with him to play in the cold sunshine.

Yip, it's official. A third generation hates me and he's not even human.

Elegant and Graceful

Every have one of those days? Yea, me too. Had a hot dog for breakfast and ended up with mustard down the front of my shirt. Because apparently everyone needs to know what I had breakfast also. I jammed my left index finger, which makes typing a joy. Can't wait to knit with it.

I have a feeling this maybe a whiny post. If this is the case, sorry. Don't mean to be overly whiny.

Didn't get much done in the way of knitting this weekend. My wrists were bothering me and decided to give them a rest. I have ten more squares to go before my goal of 120 is completed. Should have them done this week.

Spring is here. I can tell because Grilltech is sneezing like mad.

So what's sexier than mustard down the front of my shirt? Water splotches where I tried to wash it out. Yea, baby. I'm hot. And the mustard is there.

Good news for Grilltech, no tufo briskets for him.

Another glorious and shining moment in time for me. Training T1 how to do morning reports - in case I'm out sick again - and ran. the. wrong. frakking. report. Go me. Only five more hours to go and the day is over.

Don't know what's going on, but Wikipedia is taking forever to load. Hmmm 2058 still hasn't decided who has control of the Mob, I think I can use that for the next adventure. Saturday's adventure was loosely based on an episode of Warehouse 13. Soon some will be loosely based on the yummy, yummy hot guys.

Fun with Gamers

The team BS' their way to the vaults, leaving the ground floor with a tech and three heavily armed guards. Once below they overwhelm the guards, acquire their target and then some. The elf decides he wants a set of the armor the guards were wearing. They drag their loot back to the freight elevator and head to the first floor. Tech looks at the group and says, Where's Bob? What does the group do? Throw out the dead guard...

End result? Two nearly dead street sam's, one shot up shaman, and them running instead of walking out the door like they had planned.

It was a great night.

List Day, Double Shot

  • How do you tactfully tell a guy, I've got your nuts in a bag on my desk....
  • It was pouring rain this morning
  • I've figured out what I'm making Convert's baby Preststo Chango (Ravelry) (Non)
  • I've got three days to come up with an adventure for the group
  • I'm got nothing currently
  • Okay, have the basis of the adventure worked out
  • Now need to draw maps and flush out the NPCs
  • The sun is shining, I'm having a real hard time sitting at my desk
  • Grilltech decided to break his pickup
  • Once again, meanest Mommy in the world! Made Havoc wait 20 minutes for his walk
  • Amy, Havoc says, You know I'm training to be a cage fighter...

Monday, Monday

Today's pictures are supervised by Fran, who never looks at the camera.

And Havoc, who feels I was the meanest Mommy ever! He had to wait five minutes before he was able to drag me around the block.

I was able to complete 86 squares of my 120 goal.

Unfolded squares.

Olympic quotes:
Perky: Didn't you try and make this four years ago?
Grilltech: Hey, you're not knitting, shouldn't you be knitting?

List Day

  • Passed another kitty stand off
  • I counted seven cars at the bar
  • It was patchy fog while thinking about raining
  • Couldn't figure out why a jerk was tailgating a pickup when there was a whole road open
  • The jerk was a cop trying to make the pickup nervous
  • I need to complete four more squares for this set of 20 to be done
  • 20 more squares to go so I can meet my goal, think I can have it done by Sunday night?
  • Which makes me wonder if I could have completed a sweater in the same amount of time
  • Perky decided to make the same afghan as me only using size 10 needles and red heart yarn
  • Then she wondered why her square was so much larger than mine
  • Convert had a baby boy - Galvin - 6.4 pounds, 19 inches long
  • The fog is getting thicker, can't see the building across the parking lot
  • I'd better get up and move around, my head is about ready to hit the desk
  • Suppose I could go get some water, I'm out
  • Amusing misheard statement: that rat-bastard was really that right ticket
  • The fog is faded a bit, I can see the building across the parking lot now
  • 28 minutes until I run out the door to go knit; I think I can hold out that long
  • Had an officer follow me for about a mile on the way home
  • He didn't stop me, so no photo opt with a sock for him
  • Today turned out pretty nice considering how dark it started
  • I suppose I should go knit, I've got a goal to meet

Blah

Today sucks. It's pouring rain which I really don't mind, but it's chilly which I do mind. The database is running SLOW. Not s-l-o-w but grass is growing faster; snails are zooming by; my Olympic knitting is stitches ahead; paint is... you get the idea. And to top it off, I'm only suppose to knit when on break or during meetings. Kill me now.

One of the supervisors let me know the posted schedules where wrong. So I re-pulled them. They're also wrong. I try to pull them the alternate way. Locks up excel. Screw this! The wrong ones are getting posted and I'll work on the stock Thank you, we're aware of the issue with the PDF's it's being worked on. Yea, the rest of the week off knitting - a girl can dream.

Convert had her baby on Saturday, which gives me plenty of time to knit her something really fast. Oh yea, Olympics.

No knitting at work? Fine Plans vs Zombies it is. OMG, I put the game down, picked it up again 10 minutes later, the level was cleared and I had won. A supervisor walked by and wanted to know what I was playing instead of working. Yea, I was waiting over an hour for an event to happen.

My left heel has a raw spot on it from my old tennis shoes. It doesn't help that Havoc must run around the block. Who would think eight pounds of puppy has that much pull? Yesterday I was getting ready to go, hadn't even gotten the leash or harness on him and he was at the door whining to go.

Haven't figured out what I want to cook for dinner. Nothing thawed out; spaghetti it is. I'll need to stop by the store and pick up some bread to make garlic toast.

Still Behind

Havoc took me for a drag. He's out side harassing squirrels. Dinner is on the table. Time to put in a movie and knit - if I can stay away from Treasure Madness that is. Thanks Carrie...

Can't Post, Still Knitting

With less than a week to go I'm going to fail on my Olympic knitting. If I took the rest of the week off, I might be able to make it; but Grilltech said No calling in sick just too knit. Spoil sport.

List Day

  • I counted four cars at the bar this morning
  • There were quite a bit more yesterday for some reason
  • I'm four squares away from finishing the first two strips
  • The convert is due in two weeks, but she's ready any time now
  • She also has very little in the way of brain cells
  • Since I'm making the afghan 20 by 15, I'm calling it a win when I reach the 120 squares the original calls for
  • Okay, 160 because of the border
  • Course this is all subject to change by a whim
  • I've discovered knitting backwards comes in handy for other things than heels and enterlac
  • The Queen is back!  You may all bask my glory - I uploaded all of the day before data; not yesterday's
  • I also had to rip back four rows on one square, the other one was right
  • Perky made the *best* lava cake last night - it had a white chocolate/coconut filling
  • I'm so happy tomorrow is Friday
  • I'd be happier if today was Friday
  • New and improved T1 asked Convert if she'd had the baby
  • She laughed at him
  • One of the Loud Talkers is starting early today
  • It's now foggy outside; it wasn't when I drove in
  • I could see Mars quite clearly
  • I feel like I'm being pulled in twenty different directions
  • Can't really snap at Convert, even if she's trying to make me crazy
  • Passed a car pulled over with four officers and a drug puppy

Day 3

I'm three days into the project, I've completed 20 squares. It's suppose to be 10 x 12, I'm thinking 12 high isn't going to be tall enough. Ick

Let the Games Being!

Damn, now I have to wait until 2000?!
I'm ready for the Knitting Olympics

List Day

  • There was four cars at the bar this morning and a fair amount of traffic
  • I left my badge sitting on my desk this morning when I went out to heat up breakfast
  • Had to call one of the Owl's and ask him to bring it to me
  • I had half a post written out yesterday, but flaked out and didn't get it published
  • I've been up for almost three hours and I'm ready for a nap
  • Grilltech has asked for a Jayne Cobb hat
  • I've ran the same report three times now before finally doing it right
  • The sad part?  It's a daily report, so there really isn't any reason for me doing it wrong, I should be able to do it in my sleep
  • Trying to decide if I want to heat up lunch now or wait an hour
  • Decided it was lunch time
  • Had a case of mistaken identity - we all look the same on communicator
  • I sooo want one
  • Tomorrow is the start of the Knitting Olympics, I still haven't decided what I'm making

Day Late, Dollar Short

This was written up on Friday, but I'm just now getting around to posting it.

Drove to work in the pouring rain. I've seen the blogs where they're expecting another great blizzard of this season. Which makes me very happy I was able to snap a couple of pictures while we had a few brief moments of sun.

Dad's toe socks. I ripped back the first one to the start of the toes then increased the number I set aside for the big toe. It's fitting better. He'll like this pair better than the first set I created for him.

Second of a voyager type hat. Slightly different style than the prior ones made. Longer tassel cord. The color is more blood/maroon red, than pink.

Of course, no photo shoot (or anything else I do for that matter) is completed without supervision. I kept taking photos until I got one of her looking at me. This is as close as I got.

List Day!

  • Counted nice nine cars at the bar
  • Mr Fox decided he could live the with ridicule of his friends by not joining the club
  • For those not in the know, joining the club is code for running across the road while traffic is coming
  • The past week at work has been very, very crappy
  • Oh wait, I'm been PMSing very, very badly, it might be my own prejudices speaking
  • PL is having the same issue
  • Saturday we're having a baby shower for Convert
  • Maybe that's why I'm in such a foul mood - still a bad one - but not as bad
  • My computer was no longer a brick; but a functional system I need to set up again
  • The new computer is a bit faster, so I should be happy
  • Yea, yea. New rope; silk rope - it still means the same thing
  • I'm fully functional again; guess I should get back to work
  • Oh, some of the tools are still slow
  • Did I mention, I no longer have to share my desk?
  • I need to remember to bring in the foam tape for my other ID reader
  • Me: Oh crap! I should have seen that, yes I am a dumbass, nice to meet you. Troll: We've met
  • There were two cars on the drive home

Is it Over?

Yes, I did snap at IT today.
No, I didn't rip anyone's heads off.
Yes, I did apologize for the snapping.
No, I didn't get anything for not killing.
Yes, I do have to go back tomorrow.
No, I don't expect to get a full day's work done.

Why?

Because they're going to replace the other fucking computer.
