Final Post of the Year

It’s the final day of the year. 2012 is going away and 2013 is looming large. I'd like to say there are grand plans for the new year, but honestly? I can't think of any.

I know Grilltech is planning to go to Game Storm at the end of March. We most likely go to Jackpot for my birthday in June. Might do Thanksgiving at Grilltech's mom's house.

I'm back to working on my blanket. I completed four more squares. Still have forever to go, before it's even close to being usable.

I wanted to a slide show of down the street for the past year, but since we host our own photo's I can't get them to work. So, instead I'll leave you with a graph of my car counts for the past year....

Yea, I know. I'm such a geek.

RIP

Sorry for the radio silence, I was honestly busy. Grilltech and I went to visit his family in Washington/Oregon over the holiday. We left Wednesday night after work, and got there about 2300. We both were so tired, we fell into bed and that was it.

Perky checked on the cats for us, they lied to her and kept telling her I hadn't fed them any good food. She didn't fall for it. When we got back, I had two cats who insisted on being next to me for a couple of days.

I turned off my computer before leaving just in case. When we got back it wouldn't boot up at all. So yesterday Grilltech stopped off at the recycle store and picked up a new power supply. System still won't boot. We think it's the motherboard. In the mean time, Grilltech hooked up an old system for me to use.

I took yesterday off, so I could relax before getting back into the swing of work and get laundry done. On the last load, our dryer died. GAH! I can live with an old computer, but I can't live without a dryer. So we'll be checking around for a replacement.

While in Washington, Grilltech and I met up with Roxie for a bit of knitting time. Well, knitting for me, internet time for him. It was nice to catch up in person. Overall, it's really amazing how much we know about each others lives and we've only met in person twice!

Falling

The weather has turned. The past two days we've woken up to rain, which is lovely after a brutal summer. The sun comes up later and later, and nights are turning colder. Most of the trees have already turned. The one outside my window has turned yellowed and in the early mornings against the black, it looks like a ghost flitting around.

In all honestly, I'm kinda glad the temperatures have cooled. I'm now able to knit with wool and it's wonderful. I've joined the second ball on the body of my sweater. It's about two inches away from waist shaping, then back to full body.

GoJira has moved into the bedroom with us at night. Grilltech figures by Christmas she'll be on the bed. Right now, she's on the floor. Both Fran and Uggy aren't quite happy with this new change.

I've decided to the from the couch to 5K with a twist. Or I would be if my phone supported the application. (sigh) Now I'm waiting for Grilltech to get his new phone, so I can get mine.

I've been having twisted work dreams; not sure if it's stress or something else is going on. Today Gnome called me over to his desk and showed me an email about another job I had put in for; they wanted to know if I'm a hard worker and would be a good fit for his team. Gnome is a bit conflicted about that one, because he knows I'm happy. Bored, but happy.

Drive By

All week I've been coming up with good blog fodder, but haven't actually gotten around to posting. Heck, I haven't even written any of it down. By the time I get home, it's skipped my mind because I have more exciting things to do. You know: knit; watch the boyz; watch Prometheus; and karate. I'm back to karate after taking most of the summer off. I do remember most of the moves, but boy am I sore.

I've got another foot, foot and a half to go on my hood scarf. But it's sitting. My hands are stiff from working with those size threes. In order to combat the soreness, I've started a sweater for me on size nine.

PMS Monday

Wow, it's Monday and I've got a case of I-want-to-beat-them-to-death PMS. I'm glad it hit this morning, because Grilltech doesn't deserve me being so bitchy. Today's target appears to be the Lackey. Since I don't have any direct interaction with him, it might save his life.

I've decided on the hood scarf to re-knit it. Yes, I know I was two-thirds of the way done. The second skein was very bright compared to the first one and I couldn't live with the differences. So I'm knitting two rows, then switching colors. There is some lovely pooling going on. I'll get a picture posted soon(tm).

We dog sat Havoc while Perky and Kommadant went to pick up his Mother in Nevada. I think Perky wanted to go gamble all weekend, but didn't want me to know. GoJira has been hiding in our bathroom cupboard, much to Uggy's dismay. This morning Jira stuck her head out while Uggy was in visiting me. There was much hissing on Uggy's part before she flounced out.

1000 Words

Warning, lots of pictures. Which is okay, because I'll make up for by not having a lot of text to read. =^.^=

Down the street:

What have I been working on?

Pitted, peeled and sliced two huge boxes of peaches. I'll be getting a peach mead soon(tm).

I finished a baby sweater. The classic baby surprise jacket.

Grilltech and I trimmed the hedge. It took us both two days to finish. What you can't see is the pile goes on for another fifteen feet.

I'm back to working on my hooded scarf. I'm on the down hill side of knitting it.

It hasn't all been work, I did take some time to go to a going-out-of-business sale. Picked up more sock yarn for Grilltech.

I'm not quite sure what I'll build with these. Socks? Mitts? A cowl?

Enough Cascade 220 for sweaters.

Can You Breathe?

How bad is it outside?

Hopefully the winds tomorrow will do some clearing.

Monday, Monday

It was a good - busy, but good - weekend. On Saturday, Perky and I was out running errands. Every time we passed a yard sale sign, she would pout and that I never-ever-ever take her to yard sales. so a block from the house I pull over at one. They didn't have anything that looked terribly interesting, but I did notice a sign that said furniture for sale in the house. I bought us a new-to-us couch and matching chair. It was an estate sale, so they were happy to part with them. Plus both are in excellent shape.

Saturday night, Grilltech took me out to watch the Perseid shower. Perky and Kommadant came with us and seemed to enjoy themselves. While we was setting up, a long one streaked across the sky. I believe the total count for the night was 20+.

Grilltech spent all day Sunday running a Malifaux tournament. Since he was running it, he didn't play and yet he still managed to have a good time. He came home with a bag of holding, which I promptly stole. I showed him my bag which is looking pretty ratty from wear, so he was okay with me taking it. And I promised to buy him a replacement on on Friday.
