List Day

  • I counted one car at the bar this morning
  • Today is Thursday there was a short time this morning that I was sure it was Wednesday
  • I got three compliments on my hood scarf; two - you look ready for the cold and one - you should sell those!
  • We're having leftover turkey soup for dinner tonight
  • Two months ago, I brought artichoke dip tarts to a potluck. Today, one of the girls asked for the recipe. Yes, I am flattered
  • She's bummed, the 12 days of snacks starts tomorrow with cheesecake and she's going to miss it
  • The sun is peaking through the cloud cover, which is better than yesterday's trying to snow most of the day
  • Teacher has the plague, so I won't be going to learn tonight
  • I've already started making plans for the solstice, I can't wait
  • Hope everyone has a good night

We're Home

I had a lovely Thanksgiving. We went to Washington to spend it with Grilltech's family. They were warm and welcoming, who talked quite a bit about the current and past events of family members I didn't know. I'm sure they felt I was rude because I hardly spoke. No, I don't know that cousin, and no, I didn't want to ask for more background. When it was a common topic I was more forth coming, I hope.

I did get some knitting completed. Finished the hood scarf. It's waiting to be blocked. Then it will truly be done.

I also got several inches of Grilltech's second sock completed. I was going to start his scarf, but decided it was too dark to knit. So, I waited until Saturday night pick it up and work on it. At that point, it was decided there wasn't enough contrast between the two colors. Who knew black and dark green wouldn't be a good combination. Hopefully tonight we'll swing by the LYS to see if they a grey to use. If we don't make it, I'll need to check the stash. I might have something.

Perky took care of the cats while we were gone. Then went above and beyond by sweeping and vacuuming the house. I asked her to drop off a skein of yarn to make her some socks as a thank you for her hard work.

List Day

  • I counted two cars at the bar this morning
  • I'm wearing my blue sweater, it's perfect on this chilly morning

  • I'm leaving work early today. Happy Friday to me!
  • Have a good weekend

Oops

One of Grilltech's sweaters made it into the laundry and felted. Badly.

I think the rest of his sweaters will be made from cotton.

Down the street on a cloudy fall day

My heel scarf, I could have finished two of these already, if I'd stop ripping back. And I have an overwhelming fear of having too much yarn left over when I'm done. Usually my fear is I won't have enough.

Grilltech's Blue Dragon Scale socks. They remind me of the spell chain lightening.

My sweater, only a few more rows to go and it will be done. I'm thinking of adding a crochet edging to make it more feminine. As if peach wasn't girly enough.

Drive by Posting

I've been taking a mood stabilizer drug. It's been a life saver because I didn't realize how bad I was, until I wasn't. The down side? I couldn't come up with a sales pitch for the twelve days of snacks at work. Nothing. Not sure if it's really the medication or just an off day on my part.

So, what have I been doing? Work (dull) and knitting (exciting). I've been working on my heel scarf - past halfway point. I've got another set of socks for Grilltech going - blue Dragons. When I get a picture of them, you'll understand (blue's breathe lightening.) I ripped back on my sweater. I decided to go with a scope neck and bound off. Then I completed the yoke and tried it on. To say, I was flashing the world more then I should have been was an understatement. I'm back close to being semi-done but the sweater is in time out. I'll pick it up soon, because I want to work on a scarf. I know, a scarf (RAV).

That's my excitement. Hope yours is just as thrilling.

List Day

  • I counted no cars at the bar this morning, it still must be hunting season or ladies night was very dull
  • I left the car keys in the car this morning, had to walk that quarter mile to go get them
  • The roof across the way looks like it's covered with snow, thankfully, it's not
  • My right calf is still sore from a leg cramp two nights ago
  • I'm having such a hard time staying awake. Time for a soda
  • The daystar came out, love the color of the sky
  • I've got a doctor's appointment right after work, it will be quite a run
  • Karate wore me out
  • I'm on 60mg of medication now, hope that works as well as the 80mg
  • A day late is better than not at all
  • Have a good weekend everyone, I know I will

Grilltech's finished socks

Quick Programming Note

Today I finished his second sock, but forgot to put in the re-inforcemeat thread.  Debating if I want to rip back and redo the toe right or leave it.  I mean, come on.  Done is done.  But it's not right.   I mean, this would be a perfect test to see if the thread really works.

Ok, so I ripped back and redid it.  Pictures tomorrow.

A Regular Post - Almost

Guess who has two thumbs and worked on a project she wanted to, instead of the most current project. That's right, I gave myself permission to do the blanket instead of the sweater I'm supposed to do. I managed to get about seven squares done, so I'm really pleased with myself. I missed karate last night, which was kind of a bummer. I wasn't feeling well, and the fact I was able to sit and knit was a benefit.

I've finished the instep on the second sock. It's really coming along. Course knitting while training people at work is really helping the speed. It might be done by next week.

List Day

  • There was no cars at the bar this morning - it's hunting season
  • I'm working on the instep of the second sock, training is really helping this sock along
  • Galad, these socks are made up. Basic sock pattern with two cables per side thrown in for excitement
  • The weather has cooled considerably, I'm hoping to finish my sweater soon, so I can work on my blanket. I'm very much itching to work on it RIGHT THIS MINUTE
  • The medication I'm on knocks me out, hopefully I'm adjusting to stay up a bit later then two hours afterwards
  • Ick! Added a bunch of MIO to the the 1/4 cup of water in my cup, because I was going to get more water. I got busy and forgot about it, then took a drink of strongly MIO flavored water. >.<

  • 3.5 more hours of my day left, I'm still fighting to stay awake

  • It looks like it's going to rain out there, but so far it hasn't

  • We turned on the heat last night, the cats are happy

  • We're disk three of Grimm, I'm liking it

  • Time to go study for certification. UGH!

Grilltech's sweater, after washing (34" x 26"). He wore it today and loved it.

I started my sweater, only took three times to get the pattern right

List Day

  • I counted three cars at the bar this morning
  • The car had to go back to the shop yesterday, turns out it was split hose
  • I'm trying to update my resume, it's pretty hard to do
  • Now I'm trying to update documentation on how to do my job, it's not going well either
  • Maybe I should level set and call it good
  • Oops, maybe I should have checked to see if we have any mac and cheese before I start boiling water
  • Still waiting on the car, it appears we won't get it back today
  • Ah well, tomorrow is Friday the 13th, what could go wrong?

Green Blob

I have been working on his sweater zealously. I'm at that point where it's a love/hate relationship. It's HUGE because let's face it, neither of us are small people. I've separated for the neck line; it's now a purl row instead of a knit one. I really hate the purling. I've also had to rip back on it, twice. And I really hated that.

My current mantra is 3.5 inches, 3.5 inches. It does help, but you know how it goes. It's still taking forever to finish or just feels like it is, because it's really not taking overly long. (Is that my true neutral showing up?)

I'd show pictures, but honestly, you've seen one green blob, you've seen them all.

List Day

  • I counted five cars at the bar this morning
  • Words rarely heard here: flash flood warning in effect
  • Last night, I dreamed I killed a guy. Okay, I didn't kill him, but my actions resulted in his death. I woke up gasping. Sure the fact the guy was out to get me didn't make me feel any better
  • Not sure, why I'm feeling guilty about not helping a cow-orker enough. Clearing VM's, logging events, and doing data validation for yesterday and today for biggest site is enough. Stop already
  • Riddick opens this weekend. I can't wait
  • A couple of trees in the court yard are turning. It's not even fall yet
  • Funniest thing seen today? 13/31/13 - I want to know what the 13th month is called
  • Oops, might be working rich today. Nope, guess this means I should finish out the day
  • I'm going to make a deathflake pot holder (RAV). I'm not the only person to come up with this idea for the Deathflake Chart (RAV)
  • Another storm is blowing through, I can't wait for the rain to start

  • I have a cube mate today, he's chatty

Off and Running

I got up early enough it was still cool outside, so I went for a Zombies, Run! - well, more of a walk. The last time I completed a mission was back in April. Ugh. We've signed up for a 30 day TechMan TRI* at work starting in September. I figured, I need to get training now, because 140.6 miles is a long ways to go.

The car is hopefully fixed. There was a coolant leak that seemed to be the culprit. We also got new tires, so Fay** should be happy now.

I've got next week's breakfast to finish making and laundry to do. Today is going to be busy.

* SWIM OR ROW 2.4 MILES/ BIKE 112 MILES/ WALK OR RUN 26.2 MILES - 140.6 MILES IN 30 DAYS
** Yes, we name our cars, Fay or Fat Ass as Grilltech likes to call her

List Day

  • I forgot to count the cars today
  • For some reason, I'm pretty snappy, even Grilltech has been a victim noticed it
  • No knitting for me tonight, my right wrist is a bit sore
  • My car is at the shop, getting worked on for bargain price of 800 bucks
  • 1.5 hours to go in my day, quite happy with that
  • Day is over and I'm ready to go home
  • Happy news, the Gnome won't be in tomorrow, he's off to Portland for soccer with the kids

Off with Her Head!

Anyone want a cat?

True Neutral?

I Am A: True Neutral Human Sorcerer (6th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-11

Dexterity-11

Constitution-12

Intelligence-14

Wisdom-14

Charisma-12

Alignment:
True Neutral A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.
