As much as I would have loved to, I didn't give up work for Lent. My fat ass has been in the chair working, which is really starting to cut into my blogging time, both reading and writing. I won't even mention how much less time I spend on Ravelry. I think Donna Lee is right, it would be nice to win the lottery. Yea, I know... My odds of winning only slightly increase if I buy a ticket.
We've been doing the Wii and karate, but yesterday it was back to the gym. Today? My knees are killing me. The scary part? I was on the tread mill using speed setting two. There shouldn't be any reason for them to be hurting so badly.
On the knitting front, I've started Dad's vest. The ribbing is done and now it's inches and inches of mindless stockinette. He's pretty much like Grilltech and likes them L-O-N-G. It's a good thing I don't have to pay attention to the needles while knitting in the round.
The scarf/hood thing is a bit stalled. I tend to work on it during game nights. Boring enough to keep my hands busy, but not distracting from the game. So it doesn't see much attention.
I've started another dishcloth, we can't have too many of those. Once that's completed, I've got baby sweaters to knit.
List Day
- There was only one car at the bar this morning
- My email was overflowing and took me an hour to wade through
- Can I give work for up Lent?
- There is a lovely silver lining on today's sunrise
- I'm supposed to be working on the mini bid, instead I'm working on other crap
- I've been meaning to go heat up my lunch for the past 30 minutes. Yea. Still haven't done it yet
- It's very disconcerting to take a drink expecting water, and it turns out to be soda

Warning, picture heavy post.
Down the street on a rainy day.
Fran checking out my new book. It's heavier than some of the text books we had.
GoJira watching from the safety of the living room window. She barely allows me to pet her and really doesn't like the other cats.
Uggy watching from the front porch. Normally she'd be in the window, but that was conceded to GoJira in the peace treaty.
My current sock, it seems to be taking forever to knit.
When we last saw this yarn it looked like this:
It now looks like this:
Along with the stomach churning fear of I don't have enough.
Here is a swatch for Dad's vest. I know, it's HUGE for a swatch.
How much do I love Grilltech? From the sun....
....to the moon.
When Perky saw that, she asked why did I get Mercury, instead of the moon. =^.^=

List Day
- I knitted a washcloth this weekend. That's all I worked on. I'd show you a picture, but yanno, if you've seen one...
- The tattoo is at the peeling, itchy stage. UGH.
- We're supposed to be heading back today, but we forgot to pack our gym bags.
- Grilltech wants to set up an appointment for his tat
- There was a very lovely sun dog again this morning
- I was trying to do a regular post, but it kept coming out as single statements, so it's a list day
- Geese are thinking about nesting on the roof of the building across the way
- In a couple of weeks, my babies should be coming back
- Made Grilltech take me out to dinner
- Then we had to have the oil changed on the car
- I've gotta go practice, tomorrow night is class
List Day
- I counted seven cars at the bar this morning
- We didn't get to sleep until after 2230 last night, today I'm like a zombie
- When did I miss a day? I mean don't get me wrong, I'm glad today's Thursday and all, but when did I lose a day?
- SHHHH, don't tell anyone, but I got a set of tattoo's after work yesterday
- I've got to remember to put the six pack into the car tomorrow morning
- It seems I'm going to be math challenged today
- Okay, gotta remember not to rub the wrist
- Wow, it's raining out there
- Veto'ed email: Valentine's day is next Tuesday. Instead of trying to do something special during the week, save it for the weekend and take Monday (the 20th) off to recover. *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*
- Two more hours and my day is done!
- I would say something about how this day flying, but I'm afraid I'd jinx it
- w00t! I didn't put my password in the room for everyone to read
- I guess I am a nice person, but I did not post to the Gnome's Facebook wall Hello Kitty stamp book party at my house on Friday, RSVP for directions. (He left his computer unlocked.)
- Spring is on its way, the geese are starting to pair up and look for a place to nest
- The temporal time dilatation seems to have died down, I have 15 minutes of my day left and it's d.r.a.g.g.i.n.g
- Seriously? I have to go verify everyone has marked this course as completed?
Days
Here to work on time? Check
Working my regular schedule? Check
Have my knitting? Check
Ready to call it a week? Ding, ding, ding
I know it sounds like I'm whining, and I probably am, but I'm ready for some time off. Oh wait, that's next week. Grilltech and I are taking a long weekend next week. Time off during the year really helps keep the stir crazy down to a minimum.
Yesterday was all sorts of off. Grilltech had training, so we adjusted our schedule to come work later. Talk about everything being wrong! I got to work and in 30 minutes I had a meeting. Thankfully BBQer had handled most of the details, I think that was mostly because he was the leader. I kept looking at the clock and had to remind myself that no, I still had four hours to go at 1400.
I also left my knitting at home for the prior two days. Gah! Breaks wasn't going to stand and knit in a cube with a friend, but getting drinks and crap food. Not good for the waist line.
Catch Up
Let's see, what's been going on around here?
- Perky has been sick for the past three (four?) weeks. Took her to the doctor on Wednesday, she's got strep.
- Last Monday, one of the cow-orkers was picked to be a new supervisor. Most of what she does was passed to me. On Wednesday (of last week), we were talking about what I need to do, she got a phone call. Her husband was going to the ER; he's been in ICU since. I believe yesterday they were talking about moving him to a regular room, soon(TM).
- I'm back to doing the mini bids at work. A bit of a night mare, can't do much of anything else because it sucks the life out of me. Fun things like we're tanking from 1800 to 2230, but you can't put anyone there unless they:
- have the last name with an X and Q in them
- are female
- have six fingers on their left hand
- Last week, Fran kitty decided she really was a cat and to prove it, she brought us a bird. She's now wearing a bell.
- GoJira and Uggy are still having territory disputes. Uggy stays out of the front room, and GoJira has conceded the bedroom. The kitchen and family room often have hissing matches in them.
- We've started watching Burn Notice, which really reminds me of the A-Team (the link isn't to the A-Team site, but college humor).
- I was practicing in the garage last night and Grilltech scared the hell out of me. Mostly by coming home early, he wasn't due home for another five hours.
- We're bird sitting for my parents. GoJira really seems to enjoy the bird channel.
- I wonder if I can talk Grilltech in to downloading me the new season of Sherlock
