Down the street on a fall day

Finished my row. Forever to go.

I made cookies today...

...and made a mess in the oven.

List Day

  • My parents came home from hunting with a whit tailed deer
  • I'm about half an inch from starting the toe on my sock
  • I joined the sleeves on my sweater. I've got about six to ten more rows before I have to decide on the type of neckline I want
  • Five more hours left in my day (of work that is)
  • Dude, you're standing there for five seconds, it doesn't give you the right to close the blinds
  • Back to studying. We hates it
  • Only a few more squares to go and this row is done

  • I've got the sneezes, damn cat - she's been sneezing for the past couple of days
  • Crap, is today Wednesday or Thursday? Now, I'm not so sure

Grilltech's finished socks

Quick Programming Note

Today I finished his second sock, but forgot to put in the re-inforcemeat thread.  Debating if I want to rip back and redo the toe right or leave it.  I mean, come on.  Done is done.  But it's not right.   I mean, this would be a perfect test to see if the thread really works.

Ok, so I ripped back and redid it.  Pictures tomorrow.

A Regular Post - Almost

Guess who has two thumbs and worked on a project she wanted to, instead of the most current project. That's right, I gave myself permission to do the blanket instead of the sweater I'm supposed to do. I managed to get about seven squares done, so I'm really pleased with myself. I missed karate last night, which was kind of a bummer. I wasn't feeling well, and the fact I was able to sit and knit was a benefit.

I've finished the instep on the second sock. It's really coming along. Course knitting while training people at work is really helping the speed. It might be done by next week.

List Day

  • There was no cars at the bar this morning - it's hunting season
  • I'm working on the instep of the second sock, training is really helping this sock along
  • Galad, these socks are made up. Basic sock pattern with two cables per side thrown in for excitement
  • The weather has cooled considerably, I'm hoping to finish my sweater soon, so I can work on my blanket. I'm very much itching to work on it RIGHT THIS MINUTE
  • The medication I'm on knocks me out, hopefully I'm adjusting to stay up a bit later then two hours afterwards
  • Ick! Added a bunch of MIO to the the 1/4 cup of water in my cup, because I was going to get more water. I got busy and forgot about it, then took a drink of strongly MIO flavored water. >.<

  • 3.5 more hours of my day left, I'm still fighting to stay awake

  • It looks like it's going to rain out there, but so far it hasn't

  • We turned on the heat last night, the cats are happy

  • We're disk three of Grimm, I'm liking it

  • Time to go study for certification. UGH!

Grilltech's sweater, pre-wash (37" x 22.5")

Grilltech's sweater, after washing (34" x 26"). He wore it today and loved it.

I started my sweater, only took three times to get the pattern right

List Day

  • I counted three cars at the bar this morning
  • The car had to go back to the shop yesterday, turns out it was split hose
  • I'm trying to update my resume, it's pretty hard to do
  • Now I'm trying to update documentation on how to do my job, it's not going well either
  • Maybe I should level set and call it good
  • Oops, maybe I should have checked to see if we have any mac and cheese before I start boiling water
  • Still waiting on the car, it appears we won't get it back today
  • Ah well, tomorrow is Friday the 13th, what could go wrong?

Green Blob

I have been working on his sweater zealously. I'm at that point where it's a love/hate relationship. It's HUGE because let's face it, neither of us are small people. I've separated for the neck line; it's now a purl row instead of a knit one. I really hate the purling. I've also had to rip back on it, twice. And I really hated that.

My current mantra is 3.5 inches, 3.5 inches. It does help, but you know how it goes. It's still taking forever to finish or just feels like it is, because it's really not taking overly long. (Is that my true neutral showing up?)

I'd show pictures, but honestly, you've seen one green blob, you've seen them all.

List Day

  • I counted five cars at the bar this morning
  • Words rarely heard here: flash flood warning in effect
  • Last night, I dreamed I killed a guy. Okay, I didn't kill him, but my actions resulted in his death. I woke up gasping. Sure the fact the guy was out to get me didn't make me feel any better
  • Not sure, why I'm feeling guilty about not helping a cow-orker enough. Clearing VM's, logging events, and doing data validation for yesterday and today for biggest site is enough. Stop already
  • Riddick opens this weekend. I can't wait
  • A couple of trees in the court yard are turning. It's not even fall yet
  • Funniest thing seen today? 13/31/13 - I want to know what the 13th month is called
  • Oops, might be working rich today. Nope, guess this means I should finish out the day
  • I'm going to make a deathflake pot holder (RAV). I'm not the only person to come up with this idea for the Deathflake Chart (RAV)
  • Another storm is blowing through, I can't wait for the rain to start

List Day

  • I counted one car at the bar this morning
  • The bar has had another name change, it's time it's called The Dive
  • Great the returning Newbie is pissed because she wasn't doing her job yesterday and I went to boss on it. What was I supposed to do? I couldn't find her anywhere and nothing had been done
  • Great, now I'm fighting with a supervisor across the country
  • Not sure if my irritation is based on me or PMS. Oh wait, am I going to blame everything on PMS?
  • I have a cube mate today, he's chatty
  • I’ve got a doctor’s appointment today, not sure if there will be a change or not

Off and Running

I got up early enough it was still cool outside, so I went for a Zombies, Run! - well, more of a walk. The last time I completed a mission was back in April. Ugh. We've signed up for a 30 day TechMan TRI* at work starting in September. I figured, I need to get training now, because 140.6 miles is a long ways to go.

The car is hopefully fixed. There was a coolant leak that seemed to be the culprit. We also got new tires, so Fay** should be happy now.

I've got next week's breakfast to finish making and laundry to do. Today is going to be busy.

* SWIM OR ROW 2.4 MILES/ BIKE 112 MILES/ WALK OR RUN 26.2 MILES - 140.6 MILES IN 30 DAYS
** Yes, we name our cars, Fay or Fat Ass as Grilltech likes to call her

List Day

  • I forgot to count the cars today
  • For some reason, I'm pretty snappy, even Grilltech has been a victim noticed it
  • No knitting for me tonight, my right wrist is a bit sore
  • My car is at the shop, getting worked on for bargain price of 800 bucks
  • 1.5 hours to go in my day, quite happy with that
  • Day is over and I'm ready to go home
  • Happy news, the Gnome won't be in tomorrow, he's off to Portland for soccer with the kids

Off with Her Head!

Anyone want a cat?

She snagged the Queen.

True Neutral?

I Am A: True Neutral Human Sorcerer (6th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-11

Dexterity-11

Constitution-12

Intelligence-14

Wisdom-14

Charisma-12

Alignment:
True Neutral A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.

Today started off running. I'm a little on edge, and I'm trying to center myself. The more I think about the live in the moment, the more it reminds me of the cartoon.

And yes, I really would like a cookie.

Weekend Wrap Up

I had a pretty nice weekend. Saturday night, Grilltech and I went outside of town to our favorite star gazing spot. Within minutes the meteors started. It wasn't a full showing, but there were several really nice streaks. If we looked north, we could watch lightening. It was pretty awesome.

I have about eight rows to go and I'll have finished my third repeat of the fifth chart. I'm getting excited; only six rows to go then the Queen will be done! Long live the Queen!! Grilltech keeps teasing me he's going to spill coffee on the tablecloth. I'm not worried, it's made from cotton, so no stress there. I'm starting to get excited about knitting again. (TWO excited in one paragraph? Really?)

It's funny how I have to take a minute and do the addition in my head. Today I was working with someone to does it in the blink of an eye. I'll admit I'm a teensy, weensy bit jealous of the way both Grilltech and Thing2 can do that in their heads so fast. Funny thing is, Old Timer feels the same way about me.

Friday, I saw a twisted on stuffed peppers, I took it and ran. Instead of using thinly sliced chuck roast, I pulled out the brisket and man it turned out awesome. I've having left overs for lunch.

Stash...

Enhancement?

What do you call group of knives? It is a brace? No, I can't find anything to that wording. I don't think cutlery really fits. Hmm impalement arts refers to the exercise.

Anyone have any ideas?

List Day

  • I counted five cars at the bar this morning
  • Six of us pitched in to buy a lotto ticket for Saturday
  • Yea, it would be nice to call in rich
  • Told the lackey, this is a good place for us to stop. He's driving to (almost) Canada tomorrow and is leaving work early
  • I know today is Thursday and tomorrow is Friday, but I started thinking an hour ago, today is Friday
  • Now, I'm really disappointed
  • Perky said, we could spread our wings and fly as far as we wanted to in Boise....
  • Not to get anyone's hopes up, but we're talking about moving to the west coast
  • No karate last night, I couldn't breathe well. The fire season is off to a glorious start!

Just because

I've spent most of my day training a lackey. On the plus side, this one is quite smart and picking up what I'm showing him quickly. My brain drain is lessened but its hard having to explain everything I do and the reasons behind why it's done like this.  Tomorrow the real work starts, I'm showing him the whole mini-bid process.

My parents do the whole mountain man rendezvous thing, they dress in leathers and shoot black powder. Neither of them quite understand RPGs or the SCA, not that we do SCA.  I would think they would get it better then anyone. The main reason why we're throwing knives is its great exercise. Plus it gets us outside.  Grilltech pointed out, it's one of our many post-apocalyptic skill sets.
