List Day

  • Counted four cars at the bar this morning
  • Had a bit of an upset stomach the past two mornings
  • Grilltech has put in his order for "his next $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ socks"
  • I figure I've got plenty of time before those socks are even something that can be considered
  • It hasn't been foggy the past two mornings, but cloudy
  • I wish it was only 9 to 5
  • Best statement ever: Knitting is not my hobby, its my post-apocalyptic skill set
  • I've got a headache brewing, I'd rather not have

What I've been doing

Down the street. The past few mornings we've had dense fog, thankfully it's burned off by mid afternoon.

I've reworked the mitts. Added a thumb gusset and really like the fit.

Fran had to come see what I was doing, because I can't do anything without cat supervision.

Grilltech's new sock. He likes the darker greens.

Almost finished my first skein of yarn, I was worried I might not have enough to finish. I have two less than half skeins used on the sleeves, plus two unused. I'm feeling pretty good about this sweater.

List Day

  • Counted five cars at the bar this morning
  • There was a a jogger going by at the same time, but I don't think they were jogging away from the bar
  • A couple of days ago, I was feeling pretty twitchy. Today it's more deflated
  • I've almost finished the first new mitt
  • Dad really liked his socks
  • Joy, the loud talker I had moved away from now sits behind me again
  • I almost miss the other building
  • GAH! Fucking lack of communication on other people's part pisses me off
  • Second day in a row of the sun rising to (mostly) clear blue skies
  • And someone came and closed the blinds, so I can't see out side anymore
  • Grilltech is passing a kidney stone
  • Hmmm, I'm a Taurus now

Done...

Saturday rained most of the day. I needed to get pictures, so here is down the street:

Perky make me a pair of socks for Christmas:

They fit really well and wore them to work twice last week.

I finished the mitts. While very nice, they're not quite what I'm looking for so I gave them to Perky to give to her MIL. I figure I'll make another pair based on these.

Made these for Dad's birthday next week. (YOSS)

List Day

  • There was only one car at the bar this morning
  • I'm now moved into the new building
  • Longer walks to get to the break room and bathrooms, but I guess in the long run it's better for me
  • When did I become the sane one at work?
  • Finished Dad's socks(rav) last night
  • Then started my mitts (rav)
  • OMG! Seriously? I don't want to be in the middle of other people's crap
  • There is a lone sentinel goose a-top another building
  • It's raining today, instead of snowing!
  • At the gym it will be biking and small routine of strength and weight training
  • Must resist urge... to purchase... another peacock shawlette... since I still haven't knitted the first one
  • Remember, training is good, even if it's basic steps already known to start with

52 Weeks of Goals

Instead of making several broad sweeping resolutions, I've decided to make 52 weeks of goals. Simple attainable goals. Last week it was no eating from the vending machines. (Failed on Thursday.) This week's is four days of gym.

Oh yea, that's what the gym feels like.

YOSS

YOSS (Rav) YOSS (non Rav) is off. I finished up a couple of orphan projects - well not really orphans - before I started my YOSS socks. I've chosen St Brigid's Carnamoyle Stockings. There is enough of a pattern to keep the knitting interesting. The needles and yarn are huge which makes the whole sock a quick knit.

However, it does appear the pattern was written by a novice designer. There are simple errors that would have been caught if test knitters had helped out. A pattern correction out there, but it should be in the pattern.

Tuesday's Pix

Down the street:
Most of the snow is gone in the valley, but the hills still have some.

Grilltech's blanket is done:
It's warm and I've stole it today. It's a good thing he's off to teach tonight or I'd have to put a sweater.

A gift for Procreator's wife:
Folia (Rav) a pretty quick knit.

Christmas present:
This bowl is amazing! It's stone fossils.

Another Christmas present:
How did I live without a Sonic Screwdriver?

Hope Everyone Has:

  • a blessed New Year
  • time to knit when they need to
  • the best of health
  • enough money for the things they need
  • and some extra for those bonus items
  • is happy
