I'd Better Get to It

I've finished a couple of projected.

First up, the 1Bag. I've made two of them. One in less then 24 hours.

Followed the pattern on this one, ALMOST.

This is feather and fan pattern.

Joan is finished.

While taking pictures, I had a supervisor. Not my usual one.

Hand detail.

Fran and Havac having a meeting of the minds.

Perky and I found a good deal on a chair.

Now I'm thinking the couch needs to be replaced....

List Day!

  • There were three cars at the bar this morning.

  • Both Grilltech and I had a strong desire to sleep in

  • It's been established that Grilltech & Alpaca don't get along

  • Guess what I'm making his dice bag out of...

  • GRRR!! I'm off somewhere on this chart and will most likely need to rip back

  • Being able to count - two not three - is really going to be the biggest help

  • In my defense, solid black square with no contrasting line make counting blocks difficult

  • I woke up this morning and realized I haven't been able to remember my dreams for the past four days

  • I've got to remember to get thank you notes in the mail this weekend

  • Not sure what's going on, but I'm fighting to stay awake this morning

  • Tomorrow is my six month review

  • Not sure if I should be nervous or not

  • Writing documentation sucks, when they want theory not directions

  • Grilltech will be grilling burgers next Tuesday

  • At the bookstore yesterday, I pointed out to Grilltech the book Low & Slow Everything you know about BBQ is wrong

  • Somehow I don't think it applies to him

  • I've been eating more meals but less food

  • Right now, I'm starving and having nothing on hand to eat

  • I have most of the pattern done on Grilltech's bag, but I'm going to rip it back

  • I'm having Perky pick me up some new needles

  • I've checked, I don't have this length

  • But I do have four other sets of size six in various lengths

  • I'll have pictures tomorrow

  • Not all of them are knitting related

Today

Ironic is working for a computer company and having a guard have to stand at the door to let me in because our computers are down.

On the long stretch of road where people like to speed an officer flipped a U-turn and followed us almost to the building this morning. It was the second time today we'd passed officers, the first time three of them were parked along the side of the road in front of houses. Since they were so close together, I assume they were visiting the same location. I could check the police logs if I so inclined.

The Peregrine chicks are almost grown up. Guess this means the mated pair we pass every day will be gone soon. Which makes me both happy and sad. Happy that another generation has grown up and will grace the sky with their beauty. Sad because now there will be an empty box for another year.

The gloves are almost completed. I do need to rip back on the middle finger on this one. Only need to increase it by 1/4th of an inch. Shouldn't take long at all.

Cursed Socks

Today I'm wearing my sacrifice cursed socks. I picked them out last night, woke up about 2300 and I. Could. Not. Get. Back. To. Sleep. I believe I drifted off about 0030 or so. When the alarm went off this at o'dark thirty, I hit snooze three, maybe four times. On Friday I had left my ID in the computer using the reader under the desk - because the one in the keyboard doesn't work for me. Grilltech came home Friday night asking where the card was; uhhh in my bag? Nope in your drawer because BBQ Partner put it there. I get into work pull the card out, try to log in. Nope it's locked. So for the first hour of my day, I couldn't log into one computer. The company will now spend a couple of hours driving me out to the base. Cheers for me! More knitting time.

I'm starting the fingers on the glove. Which means I'm almost done!! Yesterday I started the 1bag, it's a fairly easy knit. I used Samurai Knitter's provisional cast on. It's pretty clever, I'll be using it more as needed. I left the finger lengths at home, so I'll knit the pinkie two inches long then stop. I don't want to go longer than that.

The day of locked account is continuing. It appears the account locks on its own with little provocation. Which means most of my morning has been spent walking between my desk and Grilltech's. I've logged out of the other computer so Bob can install software OT isn't able to get installed.

It also appears the cursed socks blew up the database. Maybe it wasn't the socks, it was all the corrupted data. All I know is it's not working and until Bob gets it fixed, reports can't be run.

Sharks and serial killers, who knew? Speaking of serial killers, Amy you'll get a kick out of this. The weekend we picked up My Bloody Valentine. Yea, not so much, turns out I grabbed the 1981 version. We watched it anyway, because we're both lazy. I kept pointing out things that people don't do anymore like smoking in buildings. Pull-top tabs. No cell phones. MICROFICHE!

OMG!! Nothing like jumping back in the workout routine after (cough, cough) a couple of weeks off. My arms are ready to fall off. I'm off to cook dinner and collapse into bed.

Friday Catch Up

On today's drive in I saw the crescent moon hanging low in the eastern sky. We also passed a fox who was hurrying towards his own destination. Even being fifteen minutes late this morning, I managed to keep it only five miles per hour above the speed limit. The girl who sits next to me called in sick today, so in addition to my duties I'll be picking up some of hers.

The breakfast burrito turned out really good. Way better than the fast food we usually pick up on Friday's. The main reason why we eat out is because we're too lazy to cook. But then, isn't that the main reason why everyone eats out?

I haven't been working on Grilltech's vest, only small things. Socks and mittens so far. I've got a HUGE skein (skane) of cotton constantly reminding me I've promised MIL two shopping bags. While she's not asking about them and will be happy when she gets them its bothering me. I'm thinking I should cast on to get it off my mental list.

Father's day is this weekend, so far Dad has a skane of yarn. It will most likely be next month before he gets his present. A pair of socks - what else would I give? Oh yea, I could purchase something.

Oh great, something else to worry about. Maybe I should put an alert on my calendar for a billion years. Do you think M$ calendar's go that far?

Amy and I did an exchange. I picked up a copy of cheap copy of yummy, yummy hot guys (well Perky picked it up and I paid her back) for her and she sent me blue/purple yarns. A win-win anyway it's looked at.

A lovely skane of bluish sock yarn.

Some yummy, yummy angora.

Some killer alpaca! Look at the fangs!

I've completed the gusset on the second glove, so it's a bit further along then pictured.

Now this is interesting Glow in the dark yarn. I wonder how it looks knitted up. Amazing! In action

I've really have to remember, not to wear the pink shirt with the blue bra. Its thin enough the tattoo is visible, I don't know why I thought the bra wouldn't be that bad. But to me it is. Grilltech doesn't have a problem with it.

I don't mind helping out but when the other person spends an hour shooting the breeze, instead of working. I'm done. I work and talk at the same time. Work and knit between hour glasses, I can see how it appears I'm not working. But she wasn't working at all. Yes, I'm being unreasonable.

List Day - Double Shot!

  • Happy Friday Eve!!

  • The economy must be getting better, there were five cars at the bar this morning

  • Picked up an I-phone for Komadant; Perky is soooo jealous

  • She can't get hers until January

  • I have 838 songs - over 4 gigs of music on the phone

  • They have knitting applications as well, but the Apple servers are overwhelmed

  • Amy sent me some really, really nice yarns

  • We won't talk about how she tried to kill Grilltech; Grilltech + Alpaca = breathing problems

  • It just means he won't be petting the baby alpaca or trying to boost what I make with it

  • Yesterday was the annual doctor's appointment

  • Next week I start a new mood altering drug

  • Hopefully the PMS will be a lot less in the future

  • The new neighbor keeps looking at me funny because I'm laughing at my internet friends

  • Ick, it's only 0600

  • Half an inch to go before starting the hand on the glove

  • I guess stating the half an inch before the cuff is completed would have worked better

  • Do you think they'd notice if I napped for an hour?

  • Strange mix of music its going from AC/DC to Enya to Alan Parsons to Michael Flatley to Disturbed

  • On the plus side, I only have to turn my head to the right and I can look out the window

  • Errr Dorkfish (me), it's red because 5 is greater than 2 (5>2)

  • They're telling me a couple of the computers went down yesterday because we're power hogs

  • Freaky Dr Who dreams last night

  • Maybe I should move the phone, it's not a mouse

  • Me + long wait times = lots of knitting

  • Grilltech is the bestest husband EVAH

  • Downside to the new spot? Right where high muckity-mucks like to hang out

  • The upside to karma? I can be PMS bitchy to people and assume they deserve it

  • It’s not good to eat chocolate zingers when one is trying to lose weight

  • Okay, I'm not really bitchy to people - well, in my mind I am

  • Maybe I am bitchy and don't really realize it

  • The Gnome startled me

  • Hey, it's 0910!

  • Stupid, stupid merger. I'm having to change computer domains

  • Ahh the crazy is starting again

  • Seventy more minutes and my work day is over

  • I need to go wash my cup

  • The mouse on the right side is very squirrely

  • Only ten rolls of TP in the stall

  • Why does it bother me? Because it's wasteful! They're not the 1/4th rolls but almost full rolls

  • Came home did dishes and vacuumed

  • Told OT I'd make him cookies next Saturday

  • Not sure where Havac made off to; on the plus side thank God for baby gates

  • Sabrina's not happy about either

  • All the puppy toys were picked up about five seconds ago for the cleaning; now he's in the process of scattering them again

  • Grilltech is out mowing, but he'd rather be in playing on the computer

  • Started the gusset on the glove, I'm that much closer to be done!

  • Can't promise good posts from now on, but I'm working on it.

  • Have a good Friday!!

Finally, a Post

  • I had five days off in a row, coming back to work was rough

  • Gambling is giving money to the mafia according to my dad

  • However, we came back with eight more dollars than we left with

  • I was told on Monday our department was moving locations

  • I informed the Gnome there is no way I'm crawling under my desk while wearing a skirt

  • He did it for me

  • We stayed Saturday night at my parent's in Cascade

  • It was comfortably warm; but I did have to use the electric blanket

  • Uggy plotted to kill Grilltech, but he thwarted her

  • I gave myself a flat screen TV for my birthday

  • Had to do something with that left over gambling $$

  • Both Grilltech and I picked up new phone

  • We're now really leet now

  • I've got a ton of yarn floating around my desk

  • Grilltech is cleaning, which makes me feel guilty for not helping

  • My desk is a bit neater - does that count?

  • I've decided I'm going to blog instead of clean

  • I wonder if playing with my new phone would count as cleaning

  • Second glove is almost seven inches long

  • Hopefully I'll get back into the swing of writing posts instead of lists

Monday WIP/FO

The navy blue socks are done and shipped out. The person really liked them.

Grilltech was a sweetheart and got me a awesome birthday present.

One side has my purse stuff and the other side carries my sock.

What else have I been making? Row counters! Rose quartz, jade and hematite.

Every once in a while Grilltech makes a sacrifice to the grilling gods. He doesn't do it on purpose, it happens. Ribs might be a tad dry, hot dogs are burned - I happen to like mine blackened but it's easy to overdo them - or it isn't cooked right. Mind you right is relative. This month I've made a sacrifice to the knitting gods the lupine socks. They're done. They're not perfect by a long shot. One sock is half to three quarters of an inch longer than the other. The yarn ran out for the second toe. But they're done. They'll be worn and cherished the same as any other sock in my drawer.

But gods above, I don't want to knit on them again. On the plus side, this means I should be able to block out Nicole with very little problems and a ruler. Life is good.

I've started knitting a pair of mittens. Yea, I know it's June and starting to get hot, but I want to get them done. So the person I'm making them for will quit asking about them.

Grilltech's maze socks are also being worked on. One repeat finished, one and a half more to go. We'll talk more about those later.

A view from our driveway.

List Day!

  • Next week is a short week and I'm so looking forward to it

  • A count of four cars at the bar this morning

  • We saw lightening in the distance, while it was thinking about raining

  • I've finished my second breakfast burrito, now I'm stuffed

  • Dude, seriously. Please review your notes before you come over to run the reports

  • Remember last week's chickens running around? It's still going on

  • Mantra? It's Friday Eve!

  • Dropped two things in the mail yesterday

  • One was the navy blue socks - I'm so pleased they're done

  • I was caught getting ready to send an IM to Grilltech from OT's machine

  • I think one of his cow-orkers gave me away, he wasn't paying attention

  • Spent several hours training a person to do my job while I'm off for three days next week

  • I've gained five pounds, it's time to get serious again

  • Seriously? An effective date of 01 March 2009 when you put it in on 04 June 2009 is going to be 04 June 2009

  • Perky made chocolate cake last night

  • We's hates her

  • The other thing in the mail? I'm not talking about it

  • Tomorrow Amy will have five more days of work... then she's off for the summer

  • I'm willing to bet she'll be writing and playing with her kids like a real trooper

  • I get to go home and make a cheesecake for a pot luck tomorrow

  • Is it really any wonder why I've gaining weight?

  • To be fair, I haven't had any cake yet

  • Friday is swim day, so today will be cardio and routine

  • Grilltech has to work an hour of OT - not to be confused with O'Terrorist - today, I'm debating if I want to stay and work also

  • I did go home early on Monday

  • It's now clear out side, I was looking forward to more rain

  • We've got some of the popcan games on the system at home, have I been doing much knitting?

  • Didn't go to the gym, instead I walked around the grounds for 45 minutes

  • Made the cheesecake; forgot to put the chocolate chips in until after it had been in the oven for two minutes

  • I've also had three pieces of cake

  • Yea, another five pounds

  • I've got over 400 spam e-mails

  • Almost time to fold clothes

A Yarn by Uggy the Raptor

Dear Diary,

It's day 8912 of captivity. I was lounging in my semi-private chamber, when one of the human slaves came in. For a midday snack, I've requesting smoked salmon in a crystal bowl.

Instead of salmon, the slave brought some sort of a green snake. I don't play with green snakes, that's a Fran thing. In protest, I've decided to sleep more, because I've only had eight of my required sixteen hours. While trying to go back to sleep, the slave picked me up and dumped(!) me into the darkened corridor. In order to save feline honor, I'll sit at the door and demand politely to come back in - LOUDLY and repeatedly.

The evil human slave has refused to listen to reason, so time for plan B. I'll have the dark one break down the door. Yea, Uggy about breaking down the door, that's a lot of work and I'd rather lay here.

Plan C: I'm going to sit in the chair and be crabby. I'll also plot my next move.

Plan D: Stupid human slaves, still won't let me in or listen to reason. Tonight while they're sleeping, I'm going to cough up a hair ball.

My semi-private chamber is open again. Maybe the human slave has made the modifications I've requested over the years. No, I don't see any changes. I'll be putting this in my log book, so when we finally take over the world; I'll know...

Must plot revenge on the human slaves. Must make a list of mistreatments and ...

I'll get right to it, after my nap.

Uggy the Raptor

While Uggy was screaming at the door, and I do mean screaming. I blocked the pink blob.

It doesn't look like a blob any more.

Now?

Its in time out because one side blocked out an inch and a half longer then the other. I'm so disgusted, right now it's sitting in time out. It will most likely block out to the same length. I'll recount before I block to make sure. Otherwise I'll be ripping back and reknitting again.

Friday Catch Up

It's Friday and I've made it through another week of work. Sure, it wasn't a full week of work but it was work. Things have calmed down somewhat here, but it can explode any time. Especially since it's the end of the month and there will be no recovery time. It tends to make managers and department heads crazy.

Had coffee with Bride-to-be (BTB) last night. They've booked the place. She keeps saying she wants to make the flowers - knit them, but she hasn't found any patterns she likes. I was knitting on the hematite vest last, while we talked. I'm thinking about five or six more inches before arm hole shaping will start. Grilltech tends to like his sweaters on the long side.

Today, I remembered to move the dental floss, comb and aspirin to my current bag. A very good thing, since I've already used two of the three items.

The Navy sock gusset is almost completed. Which means I'm on the downhill side of this bad boy. It's really handy to have a sock around when it comes to hour glasses.

I'm debating if I should make the bottoms to the pink blob. Yeah who am I kidding, I'll make them. Fear for me, I'll be blocking this weekend. I'll need to watch my back, the cats may send an assassin after me. I really shouldn't be too worried, they'll probably use the one the OT (O'Terrorist) sent after Grilltech.

Is it just me or does anyone else wonder how fast the trial happened in the song The Night the Lights Went in Georgia? And why is Little Sister blaming the judge for her not stepping up and taking responsibility?

Cow-orker saying every time I show you something there has to be an easier way to do this is not endearing yourself to me. Its showing me that a) you’re a whiner and b) that I really don’t have any desire to train you. I could show you the way I was shown how to do this; then you can say there has to be an easier way to do this. I did ask him to figure out a better way. Sputter, sputter, I'll need to think about it.

No wonder why the morning has been so quite, outlook has been closed. Now it's back to work. On the plus side, less than 15 minutes to go.

List Day!

  • Sign of a bad economy? There were only three cars at the bar this morning

  • Rose Kim is good today

  • Dude, I could care less if you've got your systems up, you're training on mine

  • Yea, PMS is rearing its ugly head

  • I haven't been knitting in the evenings at home for the past couple of days

  • The formerly secret pink blob is fixed, but needs to be blocked

  • I'll have to kick the cats out of the bedroom to use the bed for blocking

  • They won't like that, if you don't hear from me in days, come looking

  • I thought I pulled everything out of my purse I'd need and put it in the bag I brought today

  • Turns out today I needed dental floss, comb and aspirin (all at home)

  • Thankfully I bummed some dental floss off a cow-orker

  • For some reason, I don't think he wants it back

  • I've turned the heel and picked up the gusset on the second Navy sock

  • The database is crazy slow!

  • Of course it is, I'm training someone how to do it

  • Hmmm no, I haven't been paying attention to the environment, are we tanking that badly?

  • However, I do think this bag is adorable

  • I'm going home well, because I'd like to stay that way

  • Nothing make me knit faster than watching seconds tick by while waiting for a report to generate

  • ...on a dead line

  • Grilltech is not having fun today

  • Now, I almost feel bad for teasing him earlier

  • Okay dumbass, (me) it shouldn't take three times to realize the same frakkin' thing is going happen when I hit the down arrow...nothing

  • And people say I'm smart

  • DQ is working himself into a frenzy already this morning

  • I'm thinking it was a carryover from yesterday's drama, Drama, DRAMA

  • Grilltech scored massive Grandpa points yesterday by giving Babybird her own cell phone

  • I don't know why he's drilling right next to my bay, but I want him to stop

  • Another sign of a bad economy? Only SEVEN rolls of TP in one stall!!

  • Did I mention I left my aspirin at home?

  • OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG, the Queen of the Dumbass has returned

  • I clicked and the computer said, delete the linked skill? OKAY!!

  • Don't have the slightest clue how I did it, I wasn't even on the application when I clicked

  • What? We're still tanking and it’s the end of the month with no way to recover?

  • Picture a farm yard full of chickens running around

  • Did I mention we passed a coyote on the way in to work this morning?

  • Oh yea, I left aspirin at home

  • Dude, English. I don't speak Gnome

  • Okay, that was mean and uncalled for

  • Oh, I'd better sign my tax paperwork

  • Now I have cats, I guess their better then cow-orkers

WIP Friday!

Whew! The week is over, and it's a l-o-n-g weekend. A longer one is coming up in a couple of weeks, but this will do.

I've been knitting on:

Navy blue socks, at times they look black. Next to them is my white trash sock bag. People at work often joke, what's in the bag and will I share? I always tell them no....

Nicole is done mostly finished. The pink bits don't quite match, so I'll need to reknit one. The body needs to be ripped back to the bind off row. It will be simple fix, but I haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

I've been stringing beads, because I'm going to knit some beaded edging. So it's strung and sitting on my desk looking dejected until I get around to finding or designing a pattern.

Not pictured:

  • Lupine socks

  • Maze socks

  • Hematite vest

Roxie for you, because you always post so many lovely flowers.

Have a good weekend everyone.

List Day!

  • For some reason I was thinking today was Friday

  • There were eight cars at the bar today

  • I've got pictures, I'll post tomorrow

  • I ripped back on the lupine sock, I'll start working on them when I finish this set

  • Training today. Massive amounts of training

  • Data entry girl isn't here (yet), so I'll be listening to VM's here when I finish my current project

  • I've been putting together a b-day wish list

  • And I feel guilty about it

  • It's nice to know temporal displacement is affecting others... someone said October

  • I'm so brain dead

1000 Words

Has anyone noticed when I don't have much to say, I post pictures? No? Good!

I didn't have stitch markers handy, so I pulled off my earrings and used them. The close up pictures were blurry, so it's a full picture.

Finished the pair of socks.

Drive by Posting

It was a good weekend. Grilltech spent a good part of Sunday working on the fence. The gate now closes without being lifted. Completely kewl. It did take two trips to a large home improvement store.

I finished the IKL Socks. I've got six hours at work with nothing to knit on. I could do that whole work thing, but I usually knit between hourglasses. So, I am working... In the mean time until I get home and can wind another skien I'm reading blogs.

Head over to Grilltech's or Perky's blog to see the latest addition.

List Day!

  • The datamine's database was - dare I say it? - almost running fast

  • What is going on in the world?

  • As I was thinking about the speed of the database and almost said something out loud, then it went back to its normal flaky self

  • The universe is back to normal

  • There were five cars at the bar

  • Didn't pass any officers on the way in today, but yesterday we did pass a fox

  • I'm having an irrational fear of running out of yarn on the IKL Sock

  • If I do, I'm afraid I'll need to stop knitting sock for a while

  • I've got a strong impulse to eat something, I'm full - very full - so there isn't a valid reason for this desire

  • It's time for gum

  • Okay dumbass (me) it doesn't do any good to level set this week

  • I'm about an inch away from starting the heel

  • Franklin might have a valid point

  • Perky take a look! (thanks Red)

  • Trained another person today

  • I'm so mean, I took Grilltech's ID card back to my desk

  • Here in 45 minutes, I'll be getting trained

  • It's been 15 minutes and he hasn't noticed yet

  • Maybe he'll notice when lunch is over

  • Training was cancelled, so I'm doing some CBT's instead

  • It took him 25 minutes to notice

  • I'm ready to gouge my eyes out, this CBT is dull

  • I tripped next to the vending machine and a blackberry pie followed me back to my desk

  • The Gnome told me to stop scaring the Newbies

  • I thought I was the model of restraint when I told her to see PL or LT for some training

  • I didn't tell her to pull her head out of her ass, you've been trained twice in the area you've been screwing up

  • I guess it's all a matter of perspective

  • Today, PL was frustrated by one of Newbie's errors as well

  • M$ 2007 has some interesting abilities

  • Granted I still hate it; but it does have some good points

  • I have a cat on my lap

  • The heel was started at knit group

  • It was raining on the way to work; and it started raining on the way home

  • I should get pictures of the WIPs but I'm too lazy it's raining

  • Happy Friday Eve everyone!

Temporal Displacement

My temporal displacement is getting worse. Instead of May (05), I've been putting September (09). Not really sure why I keep trying to time travel. There is so much exciting stuff coming up next month.

Today while making reservations for June, the nice Indian lady was confirming the dates you have a room for May 11th, departing on the 12th. I was wondering how we were going make those dates. I'm a Otaku therefore all my spells are computer based, time traveling would be out. A regular mage may be able to time travel - who knows those guys are freaks. She laughed and corrected herself.

He's Trying to Kill Me

Mother's day was a lot of fun (go check out Grilltech's blog for pictures). Until I decided to try to chop my thumb off. It makes knitting a bit of challenge, but then I do enjoy a good challenge from time to time. The IKL Socks feel like they're made of steel wool, while the pink blob feel like it's made of soft wool. Grilltech's socks do need to be made of steel wool. I've taken to looking his socks over while doing laundry, so I can catch problems early.

A couple of days ago, the Gnome stated these numbers are don't match these ACD numbers. That's a difference of 90K calls. Odd. So I go download the numbers (again). Run the macro I wrote to condense the data. Input the number into the huge-ass spreadsheet. Odd, same numbers. Maybe it's me - because lord knows it can't be the data. I run a report, upload the data into the end-all-be-all database. Download those numbers. Compress the data (again). Input the numbers. Same fraggin numbers. Exactly. The. Same. WTF?! I start looking. The numbers he pointed to as what we should be close to, only count 30 queues not the 44 queues the report dump uses. I informed the Gnome, he was trying to kill me. He doesn't see the dark and twisted humor, but I do.

I own a magical stitch marker. It jumped fell off the needles today. I spent a good 10 minutes looking for it on the green/brown/yellow carpet. I even had two others looking. We couldn't find it. Every time I'd do something, I'd look for said marker. About 30 minutes later, I looked again. There it was sitting there in the middle of the floor. I know two of us had looked in the area it was found. Needless to say, I'm very happy it decided to return.

Sore!

It's killing me. End goal? To be able to do the whole (bleeping) thing and not die while doing it.

Sugar Rush

This morning, I turned the alarm off, rolled over and went back to sleep. I woke up at 0315 a good 30 minutes later than normal. ACK!! I was only fifteen minutes late to work, amazingly enough. The thought of calling in sick did cross my mind. Warm bed, cats draped everywhere and Grilltech to snuggle with. But I didn't, I'm here at work - gym bag still on the coffee table, I'm freezing, one non-diet soda drank, and a package of Zinger's eaten. All in the hopes I'll be more alert. It's not helping. So I've got a full tummy and a strong desire to crawl under the desk to nap. Nap, too nice of a word for it. Sleep, snoring to the rafters and drool on the pillow kind of sleep.

It must be the lack of sleep that is making time odd. Not that I'm complaining - does it sound like I'm complaining? Usually when I'm crunching the numbers, I get way more knitting done. It seems like the reports are running faster or I've been knitting slower. Either way, the day is going and in a couple more hours, it will be over.

I'm thinking I'll go home get the gym bag and run to the other Gold's. Don't quite like the newer one, it’s too open sunny bright I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it's all those descriptors. I prefer the enclosed feeling of my gym. Makes me feel like I'm on a space ship. The other one makes me think I'm out side. I hate being out side.

Anyway, I've turned the heel on the IKS Sock. Will be picking up the gusset. I left stitch markers at home (along with a bunch of other things I'd like to have brought with me). So I'll be making some markers out of yarn. I suppose I could use my earrings. I

decided to go with the earrings. I won't accidently knitting them into the sock. When I get home, I can swap them out for real stitch markers.

Walked around the building twice during break. It seems to have helped wake me up somewhat. That was until I sat down and started working. Eye lids are heavy and droopy again.

The other pool wasn't that exciting. I'll keep going to the regular gym.

List Day!

  • There was ONE car at the bar this morning!

  • I think it's because everyone was hung-over from Tuesday night, because the parking lot was fully Wednesday morning

  • I passed five (!) boy's in blue on the way into work

  • To be fair only two were driving, the other three was busting someone

  • The body of the pink blog is bound off, but it's not centered, so I'll need to put it back on the needles

  • Database update must be completed, the system isn't jerky any more

  • Down side to knitting socks on 12 inch needles? The heel

  • I keep thinking today is Friday

  • I've found it's easier to knit backwards with these small needles, then purl back

  • Not only am I thinking it's Friday, but I'm thinking it's the 15th

  • These needles aren't the best for measuring. This sock is eight inches long instead of the normal seven

  • Yesterday, Grilltech brought home two chocolate covered strawberries... yummy!

  • Day is mostly over

  • I've almost finished the heel on the IKL sock

  • The mail server on the other computer keeps bouncing

  • I'll be training people later this morning

  • Duke Nukem haven't played that game in forever!

  • Course when we started playing it, our CPU was a 486; and a friend had to come over to help re-write the config.sys for an extra 2KB of RAM

  • We can start wearing jeans all the time

  • Hmmm, now I'm torn: jeans are comfortable but I have a bunch of dressy clothes that currently fit

  • I've broken my cheap-ass hematite ring for those keeping track: Grilltech 5; Me: 2

  • A total of seven lost or broken rings for 19 years is pretty good

  • Now I'm wondering if it really is a good thing

  • I broke down and had a blackberry pie

  • Its Grilltech's fault... I was getting him a soda and wouldn't have seen it

  • Okay, I was weak and was going to get something from the vending machine; it just happened to be a fruit pie

  • I've almost completed the heel on the IKS Sock

  • They're eating nachos here and my mouth is watering

  • My stomach on the other hand is quite full and thinks eating would be a bad idea

  • Writing documentation is about as exciting as watching paint dry

  • There was one car at the bar on the drive home

Klingon Socks!

I left my gym bag at home, which is just as well, the wet swim suit and towel I left in it from yesterday won't do me any good. I suppose I could swim again. If I had remembered to bring it. So, tonight I'll go home and do a video. I did a 30 minute video about a week ago, I about died! Sure, I can do 30 minutes of cardio, 45 minutes of weights, and another 30 of cardio; but that video... I'm thinking it's because I'm using a whole bunch of different muscles. (That had better be the reason, or I'll be really upset.)

I've almost finished the body of the pink blob secret knitting. Only two small bits (pink bits... hahahaha) to knit up after the body is completed. My sock is still in time out, so I've got a hawk colored sock on the needles for Grilltech. Hawk - Bird of Prey - Klingon socks? Or should it be Romulan? Now I have to look it up. Turns out both the Romulan's and Klingon's had Bird's of Prey ships. So I'm going to go with the kewler name: IKS Socks. I really doubt they'll be done by this weekend, so he won't be able to wear them to the opening of Star Trek the Movie.

I'm still on the fence on above mentioned movie. I think it will be an excellent action flick. But I'm not really sure I want to go see it in the theater. We do go purchase bulk tickets at the $200 store, so its not that big of a deal if I do decide to go. It will mean I'll need to get up a bit earlier than normal and cook breakfast before we go. I'm going to cook breakfast even if I don't go, so that's not a big deal.

I didn't get the whole hour of my DVD done, I was wore out. Figure I'll keep practicing soon I'll be doing the whole thing with little effort.

It showed up...

Warning, I'm all over the place today. Read at your own risk...

I believe these Lupine socks will be the end of me. Why? Because I have to rip back. AGAIN. This time, only the gusset was finished. I've been working the foot and thinking to myself, this thing is looking HUGE. Not Yarn Harlot big, but larger then what I wear. So, instead of spending the time between reports knitting, I'm glaring at the sock. When I get home tonight, I'll go pull another skein of yarn and start knitting Grilltech a pair of socks. Because Lupine, we need a break. Or maybe it doesn't want to be socks... Fingerless mitts would be cute.

I have been working on the pink blob formerly secret knitting. It's less than two inches away from starting the bind off. I'm starting to get excited to have it finished. I'm really enjoying how it's turning out. I should pull out the directions and start the math, so there won't be pause.

I've been wearing clothes that didn't used to fit to work. A couple of white blouses, skirts and other office type outfits. Today it's a white blouse with black pin stripes. It looks pretty snappy. Until I was standing in the bathroom under the bright lights and realized my blue demin bra is slightly visible. Maybe later I can walk around with TP stuck to my shoe.

I broke down and joined facebook. I've gotten a couple of friends. One I went to school with and another I used to work with. It reminds me of Ravelry only way slower and not as many knitters. Who knows there may be a ton of knitters there, I haven't looked yet.

Perky, you've got to look at these granny squares!!

I've been working on some beaded edging. I'm not thrilled at how it's turning out, so it's back to the drawing board. I did pull down Knitting on the Edge and flip through it. I'm thinking of going back to Stahman's Shawls and Scarves because Myrna does have some pretty nice edgings.

Didn't walk out of the bathroom with TP; instead I spilled BBQ sauce down the front of my shirt. I'm so awesome.

It figures...

My comments from work hasn't made it home yet. So, no real post.

List Day!

  • There were 12 cars at the bar this morning

  • I finished the ginormous report

Friday Edition

The vest is coming along. I'm about six or seven inches away from starting arm hole shaping:

Lupine Dragon looked like this:

Have become Lupine socks:

Remember the hole in the Buffalo sock? It's been fixed:

I haven't been getting much done on my knitting:

Uggy, my cat, rarely goes out side. But yesterday, while I was taking pictures she made a trek out side:

I'll be playing catch up, when my head doesn't feel so mushy.

Because I'm a Lemming....

I'm a Wind Dragon

"Your a wind Dragon! Hey, you, the smartest dragon of the branch. You love reading and writing, but are quite shy. Your IQ is probably sky-high and your stories can win trophies. Your not very good in sports, or maybe you are, and just not inrested.. You are very wise, smart, and kind."

Friday Edition

I don't know what it is about Thursday nights, but I do not sleep well. It's difficult getting to sleep, and the sleep I get is very fitful. Which makes me a joy to be around on Fridays. Add a dash of PMS, well, do I need to say much more?

Okay, the sock is making me crazy. I know, short trip! The gusset on the second sock isn't nearly as long as the first one. Sooo, I'm thinking I'm going to reknit them both. They're not happy the way they are. Okay, I'm not happy the way they are. I'll go up a size in needles to help with the yardage. And the kicker? I'm still knitting on the second sock, because I'm here at work and bored.

I've spent most of the morning fighting with CMS table connection to an Excel spreadsheet. I can write a new connection and it works fine. Except it doesn't have all the data I need. Bob the First's spreadsheet won't connect to the CMS server at all and his has all the data fields I need. I've tried copying and pasting his code into my spreadsheet, it doesn't work. When all else fails, try looking at the CMS naming convention. It might help. It didn't. Okay, I'm closing it for a while and when Bob the First comes over I'll ask him.

The mated pair of hawks are back in the box. I drive by them twice a day. However, this pair is a bit more famous.

I'm thinking it's lunch time, the Siren is calling. So far I've resisted but things could go downhill rapidly. Turns out the snack machine guy was filling them and the Siren's are gone! Can't have one even if I wanted to now! Not that I wanted one...

I've finished washing, I have the wet paper towel in my hand when I hear. Tink, tink, tink. Huh? I look in the since to discover another button has came off Lilith. Thankfully, it happened in a place where I could find it. When I get home, I'll need to sew the button back on.

Man, today is crazy busy. Usually Friday's are pretty laid back; but today it's need this NOW! And you know that gimorous spreadsheet I sent you ages ago and never showed you how to update it? Yea, I need you to update it by Tuesday. GAH! This thing is massive and I'll be working OT to get it done. GAH!!

Remember that CMS report I spent half my morning on? Talking to Bob, he said, we’ve got it over here, and if you use a SQL statement, you’ll have the data in seconds instead of minutes. Shoot me. Now.

List Day!

  • 9 cars at the bar this morning

  • I'm such a dumbass, I forgot to adjust the reskill script for a site

  • The guys couldn't get it to run, so I'm doing it

  • Can't do anything on my other machine until it's done

  • Hugh Jackman

  • I bit my tongue while eating breakfast

  • It's Friday Eve!

  • It's still the week of the 19th, not the 26th

  • Data Entry person isn't here today, which mean I'll be helping picking up the slack

  • OMG! Rose-Kim today is jaw dropping

  • I'm having a brain freeze on the Lupine socks. Did I do my usual 20 (40) rows for the heel?

  • Maybe I can pull up last Wednesday's WIP picture and count cables

  • Must stop thinking about sexy men... I'll never get my knitting right

  • 12 cables! (Yes, I did pull the picture and had to count twice to make sure.)

  • It sounds like rain on the roof; but chances are it's the fans

  • I have five frozen bowls of chicken barley soup for lunch next week

  • My wallpaper

  • Sure, stupid page takes forever to load, I pick up my knitting it comes up

  • Time for some gum, I can hear the Siren's call ever so faintly

  • Dude, I got the message. Seriously, it serves no purpose other than to annoy me by calling in two minutes later for the same reason

  • Heel is completed, now I need to pick up for the gusset

  • And I have this overwhelming fear, I've messed up the length of the heel and will need to rip back when I get home

  • The palm of my right hand is itching madly - is it money? or family? I can't remember

  • I'm such a dorkfish, I wanted to go to generate reports; not rerun the morning reports

  • Fine... I'll close the stupid database and reopen it, because when you stop all macros; it means ALL macros. Not just the one running at the time

  • Roxie, what happened to the nice weather?

  • Seriously? A chance of snow on Friday/Saturday, it's almost May!

  • It's 0940! No wonder I'm starving

  • That's right, I can't use the card reader on the keyboard

  • It was family. There was a bag of stuff hanging on the front door when I got home

  • Christian Bale

  • The gym was a bit busy today

  • I did the length of the heel right!

  • Be safe out there; the other guy is unstable

  • Course he thinks the same thing about us

  • Perky said there were more then 9 cars at the bar when she drove by - 45 minutes earlier

WIP It Wednesday

Must remember to charge PDA tonight. I've been listening to the burnt CD. Which reminds me, I'll need to change the music out on PDA also.

I did throw away those shoes, because I don't want to deal with them anymore. Today I'm wearing a skirt so I've got girl shoes on. I'm wearing purple tie-dye footies, because I don't do panty hose. Sigh The footies slide down and I've got a raw spot on the back of my left heel. By the end of the day I'm going to be seriously hurting. Which will make swimming today questionable. The front desk has Band-Aids, so I'm saved. I should have taken two, because now the other one is wearing down.

The access database, not to be confused with the datamine's database, is acting up. Guy-who-used-to-run-these-reports (hence forth will be called Bob) tweaked it yesterday. Now one (insert appropriate cussword here) macro won't work. I'm running all the ones I can manually until he gets in. Hopefully before long before some of these reports are due. After chatting with him about the error turns out it was the data throwing the error, not the above-cursed macro. Hmm, go figure.

I've forgotten how much people don't follow directions or when they do, I can't understand them. It's amazing how fast the old habits come back.

The Gnome scared the hell out of me. I was busy working and he was talking to me - it was completely unexpected. I've been doing the same thing to Grilltech. Course it’s not as funny when it happens to me.

Somehow I messed up the (insert appropriate cussword here) sock pattern again. I can't even blame day dreaming about Dean in a pink thong when it happened. I was - however - thinking about Grilltech.

GAH!!! I'm not going to have enough to finish this sock in pattern!! Choices are:

A) Rip out both and knit a boring vanilla socks
B) Knit from the other one until they're both the same length, then knit toes of a different color

Yea, no contest... B

Yeah me! At lunch today I saw the snack machine had cherry pies. My siren. My nemesis. Two hours after lunch, I'm starting to get hungry. I had money in hand was walking toward the break room before I realize what I'm doing. I go back to my desk, put the money away and pulled out a granola bar. Will eat some pineapple here in a bit also. I don't need any stinking fruit pie.

Oops, no WIP pictures. I meant to publish them, but I had already hit post before they could be attached.

2/5th of the Week

Tuesday. BLAH. I could think of a million bunch of other things I'd rather be doing other then work. On the plus side, the day is a little more than half over. I would say half, but there is still 45 minutes that point. So, I'm pretending to be working my fingers to the bone. Tonight I'm swimming. After two weeks of slacking - okay I was sick for a week of it - it's almost like starting over. I also picked up a new suit. GAH. I'm really a size smaller, but it doesn't fit. I'm too busty. So I'm back to the larger size.

Knitting has been off and on. I've finished the first Lupine sock. Only 4 cables away from starting the heel on the second. Been working on the hematite vest (Grilltech's). It's going to be a long boring knit. Straight stockinette for 34 inches. BLAH.

BLAH seems to be the word of the day. Which is odd; the weather outside is warm, comfortable even. Work is okay. Easy enough to leave at the door. Since it's left at work, I won't forget to bring it back. I walked out leaving my car keys hanging over my desk this morning. Went back into the garage, made it two steps only to turn around again because I'd left my gym bag on the coffee table. I did remember to grab my lunch, otherwise I'd be really hurting this afternoon. Afternoon? It's mid-morning.

Grilltech is looking for snacks for game night. I'm thinking those look really, really yummy.

I hate these shoes and I should toss them so I won't keep wearing them. Because this time my socks won't slide down in them. I won't toss them until I pick up some sort of a replacement for them. Maybe some cute sandals. It is spring.

Tonight is soup night! I made stock on Sunday. We froze four pints (?) of it and the last one is dinner. Yummy. I don't understand how chicken can be so dry in soup. (It's from a can.) So, leftovers will be frozen for my lunches. I'm wanting to pick up some bones to make beef stock. The brisket will be amazing in that soup. And my chicken soup won't have dry chicken.

I picked up a copy of Momma Mia on Saturday. Forced Grilltech to watch also. It was a cute story. I knew all but two of the songs. Today, I'm listening to my CD, there four ABBA songs on it. I'm such a dork.

OMG... Amy you're going to get me fired!! Hysterical laughter is not approved activity in corporate America. It didn't stop me from reading it, and the cow-orkers didn't appreciate me snickering, giggling, and being a teenaged-girl. Grilltech rolled his eyes at me, when I told him breathlessly Amy's posted!

W00t! We get to wear jeans to work on Friday.

GAH! It looks like I'll need to rip back two rows. So the rules are: no lace knitting while drinking adult beverages and no pattern knitting while thinking about Dean in a pink lacy thong.

What else have I been looking at?

Monday, Monday

It's going to be one of those days. I got up at the third snooze. Remembered to bring my lunch - which I

didn't need to do because I didn't eat lunch on Friday. It started raining five minutes before I made it to work. Rain is a gentle word for the relentless driving downpour I got to walk through. It also turns out, I left my PDA at home on the charger. On the plus side, I do have a burnt CD of MP3's so I'm not tuneless.

Grilltech had to put up with me being a rampaging psychotic witch Friday afternoon. He really enjoyed it. I try hard not to let the crazy show often. But when it does - it's exciting. NOT! Today, I'm feeling pretty run down. And it's bright in here. I know, I'd bitch if I was hung with a new rope. Hell ya, new ropes chaff.

On Sunday the Eldest and family came over. Baby Bird was cute as usual. Grilltech fed her M & M's which she had no problem chowing down. Dinner however was a different story. The Eldest was a bit frustrated about the whole situation. I was laughing on the inside; because it wouldn't be nice to laugh at her out loud. Yea, the Eldest has a daughter just like her.

Not a whole lot in the way of knitting was accomplished over the weekend. Spent more time, playing Guild Wars - and cleaning - then knitting. I need to get back into the practice of using my powerball. My wrists have been bothering me a bit. I know, I'm such a whiner.

Twenty more minutes, then I'm off to gym. Tomorrow: WIP pictures.

List Day!

  • There were five cars at the bar this morning

  • Grilltech knows me too well, he figured out what the secret project

  • He will neither confirm nor deny the charge

  • It smells like wet dog in here

  • Gross!

  • It helps to run the report for the whole week, not yesterday

  • I must have wanted more knitting time

  • On the plus side, the day is most over

  • I've already lost one of Lilith's buttons

Monday, Monday

Monday, ugh. I'd much rather be home, sleeping or knitting. To make things even better here at work, our bay has "lost" three feet. The "hallway" now has computers in them so more people can be added to the project. So everything had to be packed away so stuff could be moved around. When I got here this morning the computers were on the desk, instead of under it. I spent half an hour crawling under the desk getting them set up correctly. I'll need to go get the rest of my stuff from Grilltech's bay, but not right now. Right now, I'd rather pout and be crabby.

I don't know how he does it, but Grilltech is hard on his socks. He's wore a hole in the black-toed-buffalo socks. He's had them about a month. Last night I was noticing he has a thin spot on the bottom of his bamboo socks. Crazy. I'll need to start darning them. Or I'll make him start wearing store bought ones... That'll teach him.

And now for something completely different: (thanks Cece)

If you could eat ANYTHING at THIS VERY MOMENT what would you be stuffing your face with?

  • Coconut cream pie, but I'd settle for a blackberry hostess pie

  • If you could warp the space time continuum and start and finish a project in an hour, what would it be (and what color would it be?)

  • Peacock shawl in flame blue or Louhi in charcoal

  • What was the weirdest thing to happen to you all day?

  • It's been discovered that 06 April 2009 does not exist on one of our webpage’s. I told the Gnome, I'm not coming in Monday because it doesn't exist. He keeps telling me it does, but computers don't lie.

  • What was the funniest thing someone said to you today?

  • In answer to the question what do you call you're wearing? It's a shrug. A what? A shrug (complete with gesture).

  • What was today's songworm?

  • Cotton Eye Joe

  • What was the thing you did today you were proudest of?

  • I didn't once think I should have the peasants beheaded for doing annoying things like trying to broadside me in traffic, or the teller who nicely said, you’ll need to come in for that transaction. OMG, does this really mean I’m becoming an adult?

  • What was the dumbest thing you did today?

  • I tinked a row (not quite 300 stitches) when I didn't need to

  • What was the most same ol' same ol'?

  • Work, same damn reports, same weekly meeting, ohhh home early? Hellyea!

  • What was the best thing about your region today?

  • Pounding thunderstorms (two days ago) or (today's) snow flurries - that Grilltech is out BBQing in

  • What color was your day, and would you knit a project with it?

  • Pink, gold, purple, and black. I'd knit a delicate shawl to remind me of the sunset I watched

    • I'm willing to bet Grilltech would let me purchase Viper Pilot pattern

    • I won't tell him I really want the pattern for C's not-soon-to-be husband

    • There were five different cars at the bar on the way home

    • It's almost the end of the day, and I'm still typing the wrong password

    • Grilltech is running around like a crazy man trying to get everything packed
