Opening Weekend

Iron Man 3 made 175.3 million. Grilltech is starting out strong.

Spoilt?

I pulled a fork out of the dishwasher to get ready to feed the cats good food. Uggy was right there letting me know that was an excellent idea.

I hadn't even opened the food yet. How did she know?

Last Day*

Wow, it's hard to believe today is the last day of April. I've only posted eight times this month, so I'd better get it in gear and post one more time.

What's happened in the past two weeks? Not overly much.

On Sunday Grilltech made three racks of ribs. We had Perky and her roommates over for dinner. By the time everything was said and done, there was only six bones left. They were that good.

I'm ready to join the sleeves on Gnome's sweater. Which means, I'm pretty close to being done with it.

Last week, I noticed Gnome had a candy jar on his desk that was empty. I've taken it filling it. He's not overly happy with me because he's eating most of it. I on the other hand, keep telling him my job here is done.

I've had a couple of people tell me about Plague Inc. I've been taking a perverse pleasure in destroying the world.

I'm training another Lackey to do the mini-bid. Not sure if I didn't train the last one right, or he was just taking short cuts that screwed himself over. But me being me, I blame myself for him not doing well.

Bet

Grilltech and I have a bet going on about ten movies. We each pick five movies, which start between the dates of April 24th and September 6th. The goal is to make the most money opening weekend. Who ever wins, gets a nice present. It was randomly decided I got to pick the first movie. (He did it on his phone, so there was no chance of me cheating.)

Remember last month how I chipped a crown? It appears I may have cracked another tooth at the same time, and today it decided it would break.

Update

Guess who has two thumbs and a sinus infection? Yip, me. Yesterday, I made it to the doctor and he gave me some antibiotics to help me get better. I hope to be back soon and healthy.

Goals?

It took two trips to the dentist yesterday, before my tooth was straightened out. First time was to have the filling replaced. The second time was to have the filling filed down, because it was sharp and pointy once the numbing agent wore off. It will take a couple of days for my mouth to heal up, because I managed to bite the hell out of it. Apparently I wasn't as careful as I thought. On the plus side, I'm able to chew gum again. So, I'm a happy camper.

I've got two goals for tonight: 1) sweep and mop 2) vacuum. Grilltech will be off teaching, so I'll have no reason to turn the TV on. Oops, better make that three goals: 3) practice.

It's been a couple of days. Let me see if I can play catch up.

I came down with something. Not sure if it was the flu or a slight cold, but I was miserable. I'm feeling better, but I'm still not completely well. My sinus' are killing me.

Grilltech was a real sweetheart. He got me a box of truffles for Valentine's Day. I was totally surprised. I hadn't even given much thought about the holiday.

I've got 9 more valleys to fill on my blanket and this row will be done. I'm not sure yet if I want to put the blanket away for the season or start another row. I'll decide when I get there.

My hair has reached that stage of it's long enough to get in my eyes, but not long enough to pull back. So, I'm trying various things to get it out of the way.

Grilltech did brisket this weekend. He's pretty awesome. Next week we're have breakfast burritos.

I've started the fingers of the fingerless mitts. They're pretty close to be done. You know, just in time for summer.

It appears I'm very talented, I chipped my crown. Next week, the tooth next to it gets fixed and they'll round out the crown. I'm also getting a night guard. I've got a tendency to grind my teeth.

And that's what I've been doing. Thrilling, isn't it?

I'm forgetting stuff...

I made chicken stock this weekend, so chicken soup had to follow. I've been thinking about cornbread, so our side dish was jalapeno cheddar cornbread. It turned out really good.

We've got plenty of snow. It's been cold enough, that it's sticking around. I've seen a couple of robins, huddled down against the freezing wind. I thought they didn't come back until mid February, but I was wrong. Speaking of birds, Fran - the Mighty Huntress - caught a finch. Grilltech says, if I wouldn't bait them, she wouldn’t be able to catch them.

Today after work we've got eye exams. I know I'm starting to get old. I have to take off my glasses to see up close. When working with size 1 needles, I pull the glasses down to the end of my nose and look over them. If I want to see the TV, I've got to look through them. I don't know if I'm to the point of needing bi-focal yet, but I will be getting new lenses.

We started watching Lost Girl last night. Made it through the first three episodes. It really reminds me of Harlequin Romance novel and TV doesn't really communicate a lot of the subtext. So, we're still on the fence about it.

My sweater is finished. I've worn it a couple of times. LOVE IT! The down side? The buttons are too small. I have the option of getting larger sized buttons that aren't as awesome or leaving them. I'm going with the latter, those buttons are totally awesome with the sweater.

Final Post of the Year

It’s the final day of the year. 2012 is going away and 2013 is looming large. I'd like to say there are grand plans for the new year, but honestly? I can't think of any.

I know Grilltech is planning to go to Game Storm at the end of March. We most likely go to Jackpot for my birthday in June. Might do Thanksgiving at Grilltech's mom's house.

I'm back to working on my blanket. I completed four more squares. Still have forever to go, before it's even close to being usable.

I wanted to a slide show of down the street for the past year, but since we host our own photo's I can't get them to work. So, instead I'll leave you with a graph of my car counts for the past year....
